My point is that this journey, from not knowing each other at all, to intense, sheltered, extremely close-quarted life, to complete exposion to everyone, to being banned and not knowing what to do. I don't know if I'm being dramatic on their part, but for these young men, everything has changed as a result. And no matter what type of feelings they have for each other this journey must have played havoc on those feelings. So if anything, I can see JY & ZZ being confused. Like JY said, though, they are like brothers-in-arms, like two soldiers who've fought side by side on a battlefield and forever share that bond, that experience which no one else can understand. It's what makes these two so very fascinating to me.

I agree with your detailed observation, @charlie10. JY and ZZ experienced everything in an accelerated pace.

Their filming Addicted made them accelerated their relationship from strangers to "lovers", resulting in a very magnetic closeness; magnetic both to them and to viewers. This in itself is a remarkable feat because as @sohocomo has said, even real life, long time couples sometime do not share their level of synchronisation.

If only the ban did not happen, they might have time to process their closeness slowly and the result either the bond will be dissipated slowly as time goes by or strengthened by their condition and mutual attraction. But the ban happened, followed by fame, opportunities, attacks and emotional roller coaster that follow. Only they can understand whatever they are feeling now, and that caused the already existing bond intensified.

They are like two metals which had been turned into temporary magnets and then underwent extreme conditions which might turn them into absolute magnets. Now, what the label of this magnetic bond in our human vocabulary is according to the interpreter. :)

I missed confession time, but I got sleep! Yay, sanity!

I hate KPop (I'm a country girl who grew up on 80's anthem rock and hair bands) but I LOVE Shinhwa. There's many, many reasons I adore those 6 men, and their music, but one of the biggest things that drew me to being a fan was the personal bond, the brotherhood, they have developed and exhibit. I know a couple of people in the entertainment industry here in the US, and I've heard the stories about the KPop industry. It really is comparable to the stories I've heard from veterans about the bonds they formed with fellow soldiers in war time situations. With Shinhwa, they were all teenagers who signed with SM, left their families and homes to go into the trainee program, and got thrown together by fate to form this new group. Living in one room together, rehearsing umpteen hours every day together, not being able to leave the dorm without permission - it was either kill each other or become family. They are all well known for exhibiting their care, as well as their frustrations, with each other very openly. The brotherly love, support, and encouragement they give each other is an amazing thing to see, in my opinion. And not just one or two, or this part of the group and that part of the group, but all six, equally, each one to each of the other five.

When I first watched the BTS of JY & ZZ, I couldn't help but compare them to Shinhwa. The playfulness, the trust, the care, the understanding - just what my fan heart screams for. Then finding out about the filming conditions, the sleeping arrangements, the societal situations, their personal backgrounds all just enforced the comparison in my head.  I could see a sense of brotherhood between them. That shared bond of experiencing all of these things together, knowing that no one else in the world would be able to fully understand what they were thinking and feeling, and that very basic human need to support and be supported by someone who understands. I was just simply amazed at how deep it seemed given the short time frame they had known each other. If JY & ZZ continued into the industry individually there is a chance they would meet some day, but that does not mean they would bond at that time the way they have now. Fate has played her cards and put them into this situation together now for a definite reason, the same way the 6 members of Shinhwa were thrown together when and how they were (there are a number of little side stories that could have kept them from becoming the Shinhwa that we know).

There is a deviation in my comparison (of course). I have never seen any two members of Shinhwa look at each other the way JY & ZZ look at each other. It took Shinhwa a couple of years to reach the level of exposure JY & ZZ have experienced recently.  Completely leaving out anything filmed for the series (though there are plenty of things I would like to debate are more than acting), and even ignoring the joint photo shoots (since modelling is a type of acting in its own way), but just looking at the interviews and recent clips (oh, HC, another week, really?!?!? And when does RFT2 air?) there is an intensity that just goes beyond friendship and brotherhood. The word 'need' always pops into my head when I see them. It may be simply a deeper connection due to the extreme chaos of the last couple of months, something that may not seem so blatant if this was all happening six or nine months from now, but the compressed time factor of JY & ZZ's relationship leaves everyone, including themselves I believe, with the question of "What if...?"

I saw on weibo the performance list

Link > http://ww2.sinaimg.cn/bmiddle/005Gz9APgw1f2qeaj9f13j30hs2l810u.jpg

Seems like Zhouzhou is the 3rd to perform? And if this list is accurate, after Zhouzhou performance, it will be NCT performing next after him (new South Korea boyband that SM Entertainment has been hyping for their debut) ..I'm not a fan of NCT, just find it interesting that it's both first/debut stages

(So nervous for Zhouzhou >< )

I just wrote about my opinion on the rape in the previous page. But, I honestly don't see how they're going to survive season 2 without changing a lot of details in the novel.

I just read the whole translation that I could have found and my favorite part would be the first 10 chapters. Maybe because the detailed translation or maybe because it gives the background of the story. How you can make a season 2 without making it a complete soft porn is beyond me. But, am sure they can manage this. But, after reading the novel I am not sure I want season 2 too. And am not sure if it'll be good for their career as well. There's way too much porn than actual story line. Or maybe it was just in my head. I really enjoy reading your posts. Keep 'em coming!

Thank you :)

I think when I first watched the drama and read the novel, I only cared about the fictional characters. They were unreal to me and merely my source of entertainment. But today, I genuinely care for the actors and this change in mindset has made me reevaluate. I don't want my entertainment gratification at the expense of those who provide them for me. Plus I'm also genuinely no longer comfortable with the way the story goes - for a niche audience maybe, for the masses, not really.

@purpleedamame I share your concern. I think joining this forum made me see beyond their characters more now (though I realized that's exactly part of why the withdrawal symptoms hasn't come). I have read the over 18 sex they had in first season's translation. Little that I want to remind myself that both are 16/17 at that time in the story line? Since thinking (re: the age) would make me very uncomfortable.

And you captured perfectly all of my discomfort of the next chapter, though regarding the rape scene I had a slight different theories. I also agree that next chapter is not for the masses, though if they make a very good story line slight different than the novel, perhaps it might surprise us. I hope both Johnny and Timmy would have a good management team that will read the script if they're offered the part again and make a good judgment for their career. I hope Timmy, since he is under Cjd's management company still have a choice whether he wants to do the part or not.

I know practically everyone here is waiting and clamouring for Season 2. But what are your thoughts truly if it really were to happen? Is this what you truly want to watch and what you want JY and ZZ to be a part of? Am I overthinking?

the s1 you love so much is also a watered down version of the novel. i doubt there's anything that cjd cant water down. she can write a whole new plot if she wanted; those characters belong solely to her.

ok, now is the real talk. yes, the later parts of the novel are no longer about falling in love, but its still about love and facing adversity, and also about redemption, forgiveness, family relationships etc. there are still themes i can relate to, maybe even more than teenage melodrama to be honest (considering my age...). yes, its not for a young audience, but neither is s1 (kidnapping is a crime y'all, its too late to be concerned about gh's morals lol).

i watched walter white make crystal meth for 5 seasons. my current favorite tv shows is hbo's shameless. clearly, i dont clutch my pearls at tv shows. tv shows, like novels, are still fiction. so if addicted s2 is produced exactly like the novel? awesome, we're in for a wild ride. if its watered down? then great, i'm excited to see the changes.

i want zz and jy to be a part of it bc they are the original cast and they do a good job, but if they arent then its not the end of the world. if the fans of the cast feel its in their best interest to not participate in s2, then its their prerogative (although i find it amusing considering how 99.9% of them are only aware of their idols' existence thanks to addicted). i'm a fan of addicted the novel/drama, so my priorities are different. s2 might not be all of my hopes and dreams, but at least i'll wait until i see it before i judge and disapprove

i would like to address @timmyjh and @_supermai who's worried that poor command of the english language and lack of knowledge regarding recent activities is a deterrent in joining the ship. I tell you

now: don't let anything stop you from joining the fun. You could always talk in .gifs, or backread

like @lovehaiyin , sure its tiring but its worth it, or just ask nicely.

Oh well thank you @thoron, it's weekend and I'm trying to watch subbed interviews and slowly I am starting to connect with the previous convo in this forum. I have been in this ship for like a month or two...ohhh this ship is going to forever ayt?

Much as I love ZZ, but I think his outfit is a weird mishmash of too many details, and overly fIamboyant. I think he'd look better in a plain black tux as I believe that elegance lies in simplicity. But I give props to his hairstylist, though.

Ok, everyone, let's sit back and enjoy the show and hope ZZ delivers a knockout performance.
