The whole mood/atmosphere would shift drastically because of it

CJD knows this too. After she posted today's article about her future works and Addicted, the fans went literally crazy and every one of them commented under her post that they won't watch it if they change the cast and advise her better not to film it if they have to replace the actors. All I hope for that she can convince Johnny to join to the crew again. Fingers crossed. Let's seduce him with a bucket of ZZ smile  and with topless ZZ and with adorable angry ZZ and with shower-scene ZZ

Initial impression from the trailer:

Overly cheesily dramatic (Korean makjang style), with smut for smut's sake, not to enhance or drive the storyline. 

I kind of hope I'm wrong and this ends up being another wonderful, engaging story - not going to hold my breath though.

Since it's a trailer, it might be quite different from what the series actually is, I remember seeing a trailer/mv for Like Love and thinking, the hell am I watching, cause it looked like a weird smutty music video/porn crossover and it turned out kind of sweet at times (the acting nor the chemistry were not there for me though)

I'm speaking about it as if it was in far away past but it was literally just the other day when I saw it mentioned here and I wanted to check it out LOL

But still, yeah, I don't have my hopes up either, I just don't think anything will be as good as Addicted, which seems to be a rare, sparkly gem in its genre

All of these events and news regarding of CJD, Johnny and Zhouzhou suddenly reminded me of a long time favorite manga Garasu no Kamen or Glass Mask. Maybe anyone here also familiar?

Synopsis about the manga:

the manga depicted the struggle of a talented but unknown girl named Kitajima Maya to gain acknowledgement of the theater world. Despite her talent, or precisely because of her talent, she was hated, bullied, sabotaged by envious parties. She also being scouted, considered as "merchandise" for some agencies etc. She had such hard time also because she was independent thus nobody was there to protect her. Other talented actors (including her rival and her childhood sweet heart) did not have such bad experience because they joined a big agency which protect them but also regulated/controlled them to certain extent.

If you have not read it, you should try. It is a very captivating manga. Just be warned that:

it was published in 1974-ish but has not been completed yet. I heard the author was busy catching plot bunnies and the story lost in infinite limbo of development. Other rumour said that the author found her religious calling and decided to abandon the manga. Anyway, it is unfinished and most likely will never be completed.

 

 

These kind of things happen in real life entertainment business but before, I never give a damn to it. Only because of Addicted, I finally care for two actors in a foreign entertainment world (which I do not even know their language!). Care enough to sincerely hoping that both Johnny and Zhouzhou gain their happiness.

Personally, for me, happiness means the presence of someone who knows me the best (could be lover or best friend) and sufficient amount of money to make sure I can buy necessary basic needs, bills and rent. Therefore, for me, working overtime incessantly or having to separate from my loved ones for a greater career opportunity is a big no. But, that's me.

Johnny and Zhouzhou I suppose have their own definition and priorities for their happiness and again, I hope they set their priorities right and can achieve it.

The worst case in my opinion is losing their sight on what "happiness" means to them and messed up their priorities. This might lead to future disappointments and sadness, which I really hope both of them would never experience.

So stretch your bows, aim wisely and may your arrows shot true, YuZhou!

This is probably a rare opinion, but I'd rather have a new Guhai than have a Guhai played by a Johnny who feels like he's being pressured into acting as Guhai. We all know freedom is a big deal to JY, and if fans are spamming CJD and other casts' social media with pledges of abandoning the series if he doesn't act in it, he might feel pressured into doing something he doesn't want to. For all we know, he wanted to continue in S2 - until people started putting pressure on him to actually do it. I hope that if he decides to return for S2, he's doing it because he truly wants to - not out of obligation or pressure (to satisfy fans, to not let down fellow cast members, and to save CJD's series).

I can relate to JY in the sense that I'm around his age (a few years younger). I flew away from home to the other side of the world the moment I graduated from high school and I've been living on my own ever since. Like him, I rarely ever see my family and I like to do things on my own. Individual freedom to do what I want, when I want, is super important to me, too. I only do things I want to, and if others expect me to do something or I feel the pressure to appease someone, I'll likely turn away from it and do something that'll make me happy without the expectations. If I choose to give in to the expectations, I'll still give my best effort but I won't find self-happiness through it. I'll just be doing it for the sake of doing it. I've no clue how Johnny is as a person, but if he's anything like me, then...

Anyway, that being said, I'm willing to give S2 and CJD a chance with or without the original cast. I'll of course miss seeing JY and ZZ as GH and BLY but one day, after the series ends, we'll all have to move on anyway - including them. I'll appreciate what I can get of this great novel.

The story of my life. Did the same thing, live abroad for six years now, love my freedom, hate pressure. 

Every time this Johnny doesn't want to act in S2 is brought up, I have these questions in my head: Did you ask him? Did he say he doesn't want to join the crew again? Do you know exactly what he wants?

No, he did not and we don't know for sure. And we don't really know what is going on behind the curtains either, only can guess and arrive to conclusions. I posted my opinion before, but I think the big issue is that CJD doesn't know the exact start date of the filming yet. That's one thing that the preparation is in the work, but it doesn't mean anything. Maybe they are looking for new locations, need to decide whether they can bring into effect the army scenes, have to change the script if the army is a no-no etc etc. It's barley a month since S1 finished and the preparation for the second season won't happen overnight. Probably that is one of the biggest problems... how can you book Johnny and the other actors in advance if you don't even know when the filming begins? 

I think we just need to be patient and hope for the best!

HAHAHA

I think only the first seven or so chapters of the novel have been translated. I read them somewhere within this whole stream. So, I hope it's not tragic. I really hate tragic endings. I'm more of a light-hearted, comedy, happy ending person. And, yes. Perfectly PERFECTLY cast.

While he deleted old photos and members posted a compilation of them, it's a little bit contrary. 

Good one is we know he didn't delete addictedor zz related posts, but also MORE photos irrelevant to them. I'm still on the side of theory that there's a big reason but not related to addicted and zz. 

Bad one is his try to delete those, is a little flaw and failed because we accidentally post them again.

I meditated a lot (one of rehab process) and came to a decision that:

Even if Johnny didn't come back to S2 *touch wood*, I'd still watch it if Zhouzhou came back as Bai Luoyin and pray hard that the new Guhai is as awesome, charismatic, sexy and good looking as Johnny and has brilliant chemistry with Zhouzhou or even better...

I remember watching the trailer of Heroin the first time (no info about what the story is all about at that time) and felt like it's some kind of mafia gay movie or something (kidnappers, guhai climbing the wall, guhai picklocking the door, guhai boxing lol). All points to a violent crime themed series (almost put off by it) lol. But the real webseries is so sweet that it gives you diabetes ^^
