Unfortunately no sleep time in this episode  But there was a break in shooting, everybody went home for bit to regroup and refresh. I think everybody needed it.

 

1. We started with a cooking show! It was bit strange, cos I thought after finishing cooking everybody will eat together, but it was for the judges only?

No rolling pin in the house. Well, its not commonly used in a Chinese households.

These tiny ones are usually for rolling dough for dumplings only. But Vin got an idea of his own - carrot

And thats what his pizza ended up looking like. Just pile it high, as high as the sky

Then there was JY's cooking. He took the opportunity and helped himself to some final product (he probably knew where it will end up )

2. Then everybody went home to return in a week's time

JY's shoes on the other hand are giving out a nice summer vibe

3. New guests were announced, giving the guys bit of a false hope

4. Hairdressing time

This got me. I thought the brush behind JY's ear is a real, not just added graphics

Then I thought the head decorations are fake too. Nope, fooled again. They were all real

5. I know the milk powder is a big sponsor, but it feels like a rite of passage for the babysitters. Every one of them need to learn how to prepare the mixture for the kids. Even the special and temporary babysitters need to do it

Also JY made a joke that it needs to be shaken like a cocktail in a shaker

We all had our trials and errors on that day. I was in a Japanese pub having a beer when the streaming started. By pure luck we found a working link (thanks to my Chinese oracle who was secretly workoholic-ing on his phone too). I tried to screenrecord the first ZZ's appearance, but as the music in the bar was quite loud, on the recorded video, only the pub music could be heard and nothing else well, it gave ZZ a nice background music for his performance Live to fight another day!

Before coming to Europe, I made a pit stop in Shanghai, so I thought I can take some photos at the airport, as both JY and ZZ travel a lot from/to there. See spoiler with details, photos credit me

As everybody knows probably, there are two airports in Shanghai. Hongqiao airport that is more used for domestic flights and Pudong with mostly international destinations (btw, ZZ flew from Pudong to Paris in June 2018). Hongqiao is located more in the city and there are direct connections by subway, making is very accessible if fans want to see them off. On the other hand, Pudong airport is rather far away (for example, if JY were to take a taxi from Jing'an where he is shooting the Wild Grass movie these days to Pudong airport, its more than 50km, making it 1 hour drive in good traffic conditions, but usually takes around 2 hours).

That is the other terminal in the back. Locals always joke you better be sure which terminal you need to go to because they are quite far away from each other. You cannot just walk from one to another.

Maybe its not that clear on the photo, but you can see on the horizon the sea and the cargo ships.

 

 

I stayed close to the Shanghai Stadium that I was hoping ZZ can have his concert in. Unfortunately, the whole complex is under massive reconstruction

At least I managed to capture some nice orange sky quite surprisingly as it was just after a typhoon Ampil hit Shanghai the day before.

On 24th July JY had his A&F event in Shanghai store and coincidentally that was the date of my departure from Shanghai. But at least i was breathing the same (albeit bit polluted) air as Yuzhou for a while

So the first big question was: What is the storm? Clues were found in the tags added to the 5ML post, #许魏洲快乐大本营# for XWZhappycamp and #许魏洲爱情进化论# for XWZevolutionoflove. Happy Camp as a storm and obstacle to overcome because ZZ's and JY's first episode wasn't aired but ZZ could now participate in it. Same goes for EOOL - the airing of EOOL has been prolonged several times but we'll now be able to see it on 2 August. Also an obstacle to overcome since JY and ZZ are now acting in bigger shows and films which leaves the impression that the ban is getting "weaker" (this point is very much open for discussion). No matter the obstacles, ZZ and JY will face them together and their love will always prevail. Nothing will stand in their way to pursue their dreams. 

When discussing it further we realized there are actually also storms to overcome for the fans  (This part of the interpretation is more for the fun of it). We already saw JY in Love Knot and now we have to brace ourselves again for seeing ZZ acting in a drama with a girl. For us it felt like it's harder to see JY with a girl because even when he’s acting there’s still a part of himself in the character. ZZ can distance himself more from the role he's playing. In general it’s probably quite contrary with them both: With JY it’s harder to watch but there’s no real probability of a shipping of the CP because he’s really (and honestly) distant in the bts. With ZZ is easier to watch because he’s more “professional” but a shipping by other fans is more likely because he’s more open and friendly. 

 

In the end our French poet @artemis73 found the nicest words to describe it all:

"No matter what are the rumors and the doubts (of people), when you find your true love, the only one who is the other half of you, you can go through everything.

Everyone can doubt sometimes. It is normal. So if you doubt about YZ for a moment, remember that they are One. So if someone asks me if I am sure, as long as I have no proof of the contrary, for me they are one. One is nothing without the other. YZ is a whole. They can keep their love for themselves. I don't need a public kiss or anything else. As long as they are together."

Thumbs up to you for your eagerness to learn Chinese @YuZhouHao!haha... very good!  My advice is, WATCH many Chinese programs and as you watch and listen, your understanding of Chinese WILL definitely improve much and quicker as it's what I'm doing now to improve mine ~  And learning to read Chinese, it's all about 'memorizing' the characters; so if you are persistent enough, and you have a Chinese friend around you, get his/her help with teaching you new characters 'daily' and 'memorize' them and you'll soon know them/some then ~ ''Jia Yao!'' xx

I also really wish i could understand everything fluently.. Chinese is really hard to learn, but don't be discouraged. It's much easier to learn when it's something you're actually interested in. I can't speak mandarin still.. Lol.. My reading is really not that amazing either, but if its any comfort, you probably don't need to know how to read like 5000 chinese characters to read basic stuff. I think 1000-2000 is ok for basic reading, with the help of google translate etc. I mean i know i don't know 5000 chinese characters, sadly. LOL..

I actually kind of guessed that JY proposed in June 2017 last year... Lol.. At the time i don't think anyone believed me.. I didn't even completely say that i thought he proposed on soompi, because ppl didn't even like the idea of me implying that i thought something big happened in June 2017 at the time. I don't think ppl even really believed me when i said it last november somewhere else lol. I didn't know about that mysterious account at the time either, i didn't see the posts until april this year. When i found out i was like, it's only a month away from what i guessed. O_O  I looked back at all the convos from before about this, really like walking back in time. Although i have to say that ppl just didn't accept what i was saying.. So that was not the fun part..... Ppl tend not to believe things that haven't been blown wide open on weibo already. But at least i have proof that i did guess about a proposal lol..

Okay, I tried to add update to my Love evolution post but soompi wouldnt let me, so gotta make a new post

I watched both episodes via Zhejiang stream, was pretty good quality and surprisingly stable.

But there was so little of ZZ! Few bits about the content in spoiler.

Each episode is around 50min give or take. ZZ got the rain-bike-raincoat scene that was over rather fast. Then he played basketball for like 10 seconds. Got one more speech and it was pretty much it (especially in ep2 he was only in the very beginning). All as flashbacks of the main girl (who cried a lot, got drunk twice and was checking out young dudes around her because it was her birthday and she was single).

This is the main girl and you can see a cup of coffee at her desk (cr. me). That is a new coffee brand called "Luckin Coffee" that wants to rival Starbucks in China. Well, the funny thing is if you want to buy coffee at their store, you need to be a member and got their app and also you cannot pay cash. Also it shows how engaged I was in the story as I had time to check out all the product placement I just need more ZZ in there!

For everyone that doesn't want to wake up super early in the morning because of the time difference like me, episode 1 and 2 of The Evolution Of Our Love is up on youtube. Which is kind of nice since i couldn't watch the replay on 腾讯视频 (v.qq.com), because of copyright issues outside of china.. I was already using a VIP account to watch, but it still wouldn't let me, so it was a good thing that its up on youtube too and we can even watch at the same time as the VIPs lol. Thanks to this channel that might have bought the oversea rights to it. I mean i guess i could wake up at 4:30 am everyday but i really don't want to..  They seem to have the previews for other episodes up too. Although, it will be in chinese only from what i can see right now. But who knows they may add subs later on?

So far i think it's pretty good, the story between the two main characters is pretty touching and it has some extra parts at the end of the episode interviewing ppl and asking that they think about a woman's age, independence and marriage etc. From watching the media conference, where they said they wanted the drama to bring in the audience's personal experiences with unrequited love/one sided love, they seem like they want to add to the public discussion about relationships in modern society and the struggles that ppl have with them in this drama. I can see that they may be able to do it too, cause there is a realistic element to this drama.

The main actor said himself in the conference that the script was written so the female lead would end up with the best friend (his character), but he thought that in real life most of the time that wouldn't happen. Like she would end up choosing her crush. ZTA also pretty much said the same thing, but just from watching these 2 episodes and how the two lead characters interact with each other, exchanges houses/rooms regularly, the male character cleans her house during that time lol, there's no way that she could really end up with her crush (ZZ's character) in my mind........ That's a whole other level of intimacy right there, so they are building up the ending so it's realistic i think.
