As much as I agree with you from a theoretical western point of view I do think Yuzhou have to find their own chinese way to get acceptance from chinese society and government. Until now they are just two polite, handsome and unpolitical young men who didn´t hurt anybody yet and who don´t provide a target except for addicted and their sexuality maybe. Will they be successful on their way to get acceptance? I don´t know. I hope so. Time will tell. From my point of view the worst thing that could happen to them are western LGBT groups starting to support and probably to exploit them for the typical topics when westeners critize china. Not that I agree with the chinese political situation. But it wouldn´t help Yuzhou at all.

They are already poltical figures, unwillingly, because of their mere existence after one job. To a very small extend tho, but enough to make same people nervous. 

With sad consequences for their personal lives. What you say would make things even worse, that's right.

@sandown I don not expect yuzhou to wave the rainbow flag. And i do agree with you that they should be able to deal with the situation as they see is best.

My topic was not about fighting for gay rights with or without the support of any foreign group. My topic was about the censorship and the question if selfcensorship would be a wise thing to do. So in fact my topic was more about freedom of speech and freedom of art than about gayrights. 

And ofcourse i know I am very priveliged that i live in a country where these things are a bit easier than in a lot of places all around the world. That is also why i think it is important to support those who's basic humanrights are at stake. Wether this is in china or any other part of the world. And I agree with @Franz Grant that they are already (unwillingly) turned into political figures. But this was not done by them, nor by the fans but by the censor only.

As said, i do not want ZZ or JY to become an icon of the gayrights movement in China, far from that. I want them to be able to express and live their lives as they want. And I think that fanpages like this one can help them more by achieving that than selfcensorship (by the fans) would. That was the point of my topic.

Sorry, if my post was misleading. I didn´t mean to critize you. I was hoping I could that get across by my first sentence: "As much as I agree with you". Its just that talking or writing about a complex topic in a language I seldom use its not that easy and may lead to misunderstandings sometimes. Sorry.

For me it is not easy too to write in a foreign language. Especialy about a complex topic as this one is, indeed. As you said, it can easy lead to misunderstanding.

I wasn´t sure if I should write the following because its maybe to personal. I am male and from western europe. My boyfriend is chinese. Before we met I thought: Chinese / far east and me don´t fit together. I always thought of chinese being always friendly, polite, smiling.... even nonsens and prejudices like that. Then we met accidentally at university when we were YuZhous age. After several years now we are still a couple, got jobs and so on. All the prejudices I had before proved to be wrong. We fit very well together at least until now. Seeing how he reacted and what he felt in the most different situations during our time together I thought very often that besides our different races / looks, cultural backgrounds etc. we are just the same when it comes to our most basic feelings and emotions because we both are only human beings. And thats such a great experience I learned so much from.

A funny story at the end. Last year we went to a big chinese city together. I haven´t been to Asia before. When we checked in at the hotel the young woman behind the counter asked: You want separate beds or a double bed? He answered: Separate beds! I knew he would answer like that and didn´t say anything. But because one can read my emotions like Jingyus the woman noticed I didn´t like the answer and she said: Oh, I have a wonderful room with a beautiful view for you. When we came to our room later on it really had a beautiful view and a double bed! My BF said: Didn´t I say separate beds? I answered: Yes, but she got it I was quite surprised to be treated friendly like that in china although she obviosuly noticed we are a same sex couple.

I just hear again and again and blasting the head phone on my ear. He did say meaow meaow 3 or 4 times with that playful look. Not the least offended being called a little sl*t. And this is not the first time (BTS 6 translated by lovelythings have ZZ playing dead and JY touched his chin (HIS CHIN!!! Remember how ZZ really loves to play with his chin, either nervous or thinking) and say this:

And with BTS 15 he called him that again, and ZZ's reaction is meaow meaow meaow with hands just trying to grabbing any part of JY that he can get hold off playfully (since they are not supposed to act the scene just rehearsing). And look at that face from the two. Why so playful, why so full of love, did you get caught in the moment again? he said it exactly at min 02.26

the most satisfying thing for me is the look on their face. They are just so in to it. get heat of the moment of whatever, but both really just enjoying the other. I can imagine how many people would just envy that kind of relationship. Awww you two. 

@aeislaeigh thank you so much for the update dear. @gayyoxx haha yes, now they know how famous the series is internationally. We had breakfast this morning and I dare not mentioning HJY or XWZ again, so I do not know why JY is much more famous in China, but perhaps for reasons we had discussed earlier about facial feature or so, or maybe jtl4ever can offer her opinion. They already left for direct flight to Shanghai.
