Sometime waiting is wasting and sucks, though what we're waiting for is pretty worth it, still.

I wish season 2 will come on middle of 2016, and season 3 on end of 2016.

I watched another Chinese BL (after watching Heroin week ago) Counter Attack and Be Here for You, and the characters were pretty disturbing, but i find Heroin is on different level, alhough this series maybe is all casts' first drama/acting ever. They're already do it really good.

The car scene hasn't been shown yet, and it might not even get aired since China censorship is so strong when it comes to LGBT things (even kissing). But here's the scene. Lovely Things says in the description box that there wasn't even a car kiss scene, which means the actors must've improvised it. And about the timeline, yeah that does bother me, because it seems like this drama is hopping all over the place, but that might be due to the cuts, or just poor editing, hopefully it'll get better with the future two seasons.

As much as I like GH, he is quite disturbing IMO. He kidnaps and what looks like is proactively sexually harassing LY before LY caves in. At this point that one can argue if LY even likes GH in a romantic sense let alone a sexual way. I feel like by buying a shitton of stuff for LY's family, and helping them out (ex. getting his dad a better job), GH essentially has paved a way into LY's heart with money. But from episode 12, GH has no more money, so things will change? Maybe I'm just reading too much into it, or it could be the whole push and pull by LY. Because in a real relationship if you do like someone you wouldn't keep telling them to get lost right? But from countless animes and dramas it seems like a lot of the times no means yes, when it should mean no.

No means no kids!

@leemicho Ah yes, but here's to hoping they'll include the scene in the uncut DVD release  Don't know if they actually will considering they removed the original audio where Chai Jidan confirmed with the interviewer that Jingyu and Zhouzhou added it themselves. Maybe not, to protect the actors (...or their relationship ) Also, the hopping all over the place is probably because it's based on a novel. I'm assuming the directors tried to make it understandable for people who haven't previously read the novel, but they didn't quite get there. Maybe it was because of censorship, budgets, etc. - or maybe it was just bad directing. If I had watched from Episode 1 to 12 without knowing at least the background story, a few snippets, and extra details per episode, I would be wondering a few things. Mainly, how does a straight man like GH suddenly fall in love with a classmate who's annoyed with him who happens to be his stepbrother. That, and how the heck LY ends up in a somewhat-relationship with/sleeping at the house of the man who kidnapped him (violently) and forced himself on him...I mean...I watch a lot of Asian BL (aka not everything is explained) but even I would be confused. Same goes for Counterattack (which I've watched quite a few times from beginning to end and still don't fully understand...)

I finished Counter Attack and it was oddly satisfying but I felt like there was something more from the drama that had to be filmed. The story line lacked in certain aspects, and more often than not, each consecutive scene had no relationship with one another. I reckon the same goes for Addicted in a few episodes.

GH went to look for BLY and found him at the field. And the novel writes:

"What are you doing, sitting on the field and not going back home?" GH asked.

BLY didn't say a word. He looked a little miserable.

GH saw his weird look, squatted down and looked at BLY, "What's the issue?"

"Nothing. I just want to stay here for a while."

GH teased, "Just because I looked at you 'there' a few times, you became unhappy?"

"Get lost!" BLY turned mad.

GH smiled and pulled BLY, "Get up. It's not good to sit on the field at this season. It's too chilly. Come! Go back home with me!"

BLY gave a long sigh, "I don't want to go."

In GH's mind, there were two times when BLY didn't want to go home. The last instance was after BLY's family background got revealed by the rich bully. The reason in this instance was unclear, but the issue must be quite serious. This guy looks tough, but has a sensitive heart.

"Why are you not going back? Can you talk to me about it?" GH made his expression look a little more lovely.

BLY rejected instantly, "No."

"You can't just keep sitting here!" Come! Let's go to my place!"

BLY hesitated for a while, but he still got up and left the school with GH.

During the journey, BLY was deep in his thoughts, thinking about how the test result would affect his dad and his future career. And the novel writes:

"Yin Zi, I'm really bringing you to my place."

BLY was constantly deep in his thoughts and didn't hear GH's words at all.

It was a long journey. By the time their car parked, the sky had turned dark completely.

 

Only then did BLY realise that he had been brought to GH's place. But, it didn't matter anymore. When a person is hit hard, he no longer cares about the tiny issues in life.

GH saw BLY stand up and walk towards the door. It hit him. Why did I forget that? He accepts the soft approach and not the hard one. Who can calm down after having such a burden is placed on him? This is the time when he needs my comfort. Why did I tease him?

"Yin Zi."

GH chased him with big steps and hugged him at the door.

"Don't worry. Everything will be fine. Listen to me. Let's go for a check at the hospital this Saturday. You surely will have no problem."

BLY said with a mellow voice, "Can you assure it?"

"I can assure it!" GH turned BLY around and forced him to look into his eyes, "My words are very accurate. If I say that you don't have it, then you don't!"

Although he knew GH was just comforting him, BLY felt a lot better inside.

GH patted BLY on the head, "Listen. Let's have some dumplings."

"Don't come into contact with me today. Just in case."

GH hasn't had a bite in the dumpling, but he choked. Not come into contact with you? Then, why did I drag you here for?

After BLY came out from shower, the novel writes:

"Do you have an extra pyjamas?" BLY asked.

GH searched in his closet and found a brand new pyjamas. He passed it to BLY, "Wear this first."

Perhaps BLY was feeling troubled. Perhaps he doesn't care about the nitty-gritty things. Without a second thought, he took off his towel, exposing his perfect build in front of GH. GH's heart skipped a beat. His breathing was like a beating drum. Every breath was clear as crystal. Even though he had seen 'it' in the afternoon, that was with ten other pairs of eyes. Now, this view is only for his eyes. Back then, it was a glance from afar. But now, it is a wild admiration from a close distance.

BLY opened the pyjamas, put it on and walked out.

Although it was a quick glance of a stunning sight, it was enough to make GH feel intense waves of sensation surging inside him.

GH, "..."

BLY lifted the corner of his lips and gave a look of arrogance. He raised his hand to hail a taxi.

"Don't do this to me," GH pushed down BLY's arm, "That's evil."

BLY put on an uncompromising look.

GH stayed silent for a while, looked straight at BLY, "How about this? If I were to call you 'brother' twice..."

"?" BLY looked confused.

GH stood closer to BLY and teased, "can you let me sleep in your room?"

"No, not even if it's a million times!"

GH's devilish yet charming smile broke. Feeling rejected and shamed, GH walked behind BLY. Crazily without a tint of disgrace, he stared at the part of BLY below his waist. In the past, he never had this 'problem'; even if a supermodel guy stood in front of him, that guy is no different from a wooden pillar. But now, looking at BLY's tall build, firm legs, tight butt... he can't stop his imagination from running wild.

If, one day, I could fondle them devilishly, won't that be as addictive as drugs?

 

It's a long walk. They walked for a long time.

In the past, on the streets, both of them would talk about anything under the sky, but today, no one spoke the first word. On one side, someone is having mischievous thoughts. On the other side, the state of someone's heart has changed. Before the boundary is crossed, one can still pretend to be a fool and do whatever one wants. Once that the boundary has been crossed, every word and action you say becomes an expression of attitude- the kind of attitude that determines where your (plural) relationship is heading to.

The wind blows. A piece of leave finally fell after struggling its way through the branches. It swept past BLY's face towards an unknown place.

BLY turned his head over and looked at GH. His collar hung a piece of leave.

BLY reached out to take it off.

GH turned and smiled at BLY. Under the street lights, GH's stubble was exuding a sense of youthfulness and charm. This flavour is unique to people about the age of 17 or 18. It is pure and not seductive. What they see are purely each other in their eyes.

 

This time round, when GH came home, he wore his old clothes and looked very charming.

BLY felt troubled. How can he let such an excellent kid be wasted like that?

"GH, can we both get back onto the right path?" BLY finally broke the silence.

GH's mind was somewhere else, and asked, "What were you saying?"

"I feel that our paths have gone bent. Can I still pull you back onto the right path?"

"No, you can never pull me back!" GH said without a second thought, "The paths that we are on is not only bent, but also dangerous. It slants at an angle of 45 degrees, right next to a pit of poop. The only way is to lean against the wall, pick up speed, and run forward. One slight pause and we are sure to fall into the pit of poop!"

"... You are really disgusting."

At BLY's place, everyone missed GH due to his recent absence. At night, BLY kicked GH out of his room and refused to sleep with him.

2. Ch. 86: The love-letter misunderstanding

At this point, everyone in class knew this- "wherever GH is at, never appear to be too close to BLY". They knew that GH's strong possessiveness over BLY.

This is the love-letter incident where a guy classmate, Guan Da Zhi, knowing that his handwriting is beautiful, asked BLY to write a love-letter to his crush. GH saw the lovely words in the letter, mistook it as BLY's letter, and changed the content to one that is filled with crude insults. In the end, BLY sent the letter and the girl made a big scene. GH realised the truth and kept smiling. BLY got mad, tried to reason with him, failed and was about to leave.

BLY said angrily, "GH, this happened not once or twice. Aren't you interfering too much of my stuff? I am still doing anything with you right? Look. Now, every classmate avoid me when they see me, fearing that they will get into trouble with you."

GH squinted his eyes, "What you are trying to say is that you are ready to start something with me?"

Okay... I've wasted my breath saying all those things. He only heard that one useless line of words.

Feeling vexed, BLY took out his cigarettes.

After some searching, he couldn't find his lighter. The guy beside him showed a gesture, wanting to light his cigarette stick, but he was stopped by GH. GH lit his own cigarette stick, used the burning end of his stick to meet BLY's stick, and slowly got his stick lit.

The guy next to them stared in shock.

"What are you staring at?"

GH puffed a breath of smoke at his face, causing him to cough non-stop.

The guy walked away and the room was left with two people, GH & BLY.

"Yin Zi, from what you said earlier, does it mean both of us really have something?"

"GH, are you done?" BLY frowned his eyebrows, " Earlier, I said those so as to remind you this. I don't care how much you mess with me at home. But, don't mess with me in school. There are so many pairs of eyes! Do you still want us to hang out in the future? Let's talk about today's incident. What effects have it caused? How am I going to face Guan Da Zhi in the future?

Holding a cigarette stick, GH's hand shook a little, "You don't care how much I mess with you at home? Are you for real?"

Ah!! Ah!! Ah!! BLY screamed thrice inside. Is there anyone who can help me take care of this demon?

GH continued to buy things for BLY's house in the following few days. GH saw BLY gluing his shoes and told him about the regular doctor visit for his grandma. And the novel writes:

"There's a very big pimple on my forehead. Help me squeeze it out!" GH pressed his head against BLY's chest.

BLY swept GH's fringe away, took a look, and indeed there was a rather big pimple.

"It's not 'ripe' yet! Squeeze it when it is 'ripe'."

GH felt tickled by BLY's words, "Is there such a thing as it being 'ripe' or not?"

"Of course," BLY gave a serious look, "Those that are not 'ripe' bleeds when squeezed. And, they don't recover easily."

"Don't worry. Help me squeeze it out. It's too unbearable."

GH sat onto the chair beside him. BLY complied and walked over.

Two big thumbs were aimed at the bump in the middle of the forehead, and squeezed slightly. Not seeing any reaction from GH, BLY started to use more force. I squeeze. I squeeze. I squeeze... Blood gushed out, but GH didn't show any reaction. His eyes were admiring and thinking about the line on BLY's hips. Then, he reached his hand towards it.

Indeed, the skin on his face is really thick. Quite a lot of blood gushed out from the squeeze, yet he has no reaction... BLY was thinking so, and suddenly he felt his two butt cheeks were squeezed forcefully. His body tensed up shockingly. He looked towards GH with fierce eyes. The culprit was drunk in admiration. After the devil's palms caressed the springy round object, they went along the sexy lines of the waist and started to move inwards.

"Do you want to die?"

BLY shouted angrily and grabbed GH's collar. GH held his arm. After some hustle, both of them fell onto the bed. GH's breathing became heavier in an instant.

BLY's heart started to beat faster. His vision became blurry.

GH gave a devilish smirk and bit onto BLY, like a starving wolf. Ever since the last forced-kiss, GH had fallen in love with this scent. But, BLY had never given him any chance to get close. GH could only imagine secretly and swallow his saliva. Today, even if he had to suffer the beating of floor tiles, he could no longer hold back.

The first kiss had blinded his mind. GH has always thought of kissing as only a foreplay to sex. But ,the feeling of kissing BLY was clearly different. Every time he puts his tongue in and moves around wildly, he feels as if the world belongs to him.

BLY almost pulled GH's hair out. A strange feeling rose inside him. He felt as if he was fighting against himself and his emotions. But, in fact, he wasn't really feeling repulsive. He was even feeling a little... comfortable.

How is it so?

Why is the world turning into chaos?

GH's pulsing chest leaned against BLY's arm. BLY could feel his rush, madness and raid. Even if it was just a pull of his hair, every instance of BLY's resistance made GH have an impulse to devour him.

The outer coat was stretched open violently, exposing the tee shirt inside. GH's hands reached in.

BLY's heart almost crippled. He felt a chilly feeling from his lower abdomen. He began to frantically pull GH's head away from his.

"Stop it!"

BLY sent out beams, as sharp as blades, from his eyes. He was not sure if his words were meant to warn GH or for himself.

GH's breathing fluctuates violently. His hands stopped above the two 'beans' on BLY's chest. He wanted to give them a touch so badly.

"Da Hai, Yin Zi, time for dinner!"

Bai Han Qi's sudden words made both of them freeze on the spot.

BLY pushed GH away forcefully, wore his clothes properly, calmed down for a while, took a breath and walked out.

 

At night, during their sleep, GH slept in his own blanket. The thing below was risen. Although it was not at its fullest, it was already stout and huge like no other.

"Hey, Yin Zi. The thing between your legs is very soft or not?"

BLY shut his eyes, ignoring the heated beast.

GH unbearably did a quick rub and then, using his legs, he brushed the part of blanket that was wrapping and directly in contact with BLY's butt.

"Are you sensitive here or not? Do you feel ticklish when I'm touching you now?"

BLY turned around and punched GH in the stomach twice, "Are you done? Can you stop fooling around?"

"Luckily, you didn't hit any lower than that. Otherwise, that 'stick' of mine would have split."

In other words, I'm already... hard...

BLY's anger heated up his face. He turned his back away uncomfortably, ignoring GH. No one will feel comfortable with what is happening. An indecent guy, while facing you, is jerking himself off, teasing you, and using you in his dirty thoughts. It's okay if he didn't say things out so bluntly. But, this indecent guy is indecent from his mouth to below. He tells you everything. Isn't he intentionally making you feel embarrassed?

A slight arrogance shows on GH's charming face. It was as if the line that he was about to say next would bring him lots of pride and recognition.

"I like a guy."

Fang Fei's eyes almost pop out of the car window.

"No... Xiao Hai, stop fooling around. Tell me the truth..." Fang Fei spoke illogically and her hands move across GH's strong body non-stop, "How could you be 'that'? Look how manly you are! Pick one guy randomly from the street and he won't even be as manly as you."

GH gave a cold smile, "Perhap I have way too much male hormones. The usual woman can't satisfy me."

Fang Fei laughed out loud, "Kid, you are kidding me right? Did Jin Lulu's breakup hit you hard and cause you take revenge on society?"

"... I am saying the truth."

Fang Fei's laugh came to a stop gradually. She stared straight at GH for quite some time. Seeing that his expression was becoming more grave without any intention to joke, she suddenly felt clueless.

And here's GH talking about his sexual orientation & his BLY. Excerpt:

"I also don't know why I like him so much. I am sure that my sexual orientation is normal. I will never look at guys while walking on the street. But, I can't take my eyes off him. Being separated from him for a day will make me miss him and miss him so much that I can't sleep in the night. I just want to treat him well and treat him well unconditionally. I can't wait to put the whole world into his hands."

"How strong this guy's charm is!"

Talking about BLY's charm, GH became talkative and chatted non-stop. He told Fang Fei the things that he had told others countless of times. He spoke extravagantly and energetically, describing BLY as if he was the most capable person on earth, second to none in the three realms of heavens, earth and hell.

Fang Fei turned into a statue completely.

In these years being his cousin, she had never seen GH so crazy before. The strange behaviour of GH praising someone this much aside, his expression and state of being stunned Fang Fei greatly.

GH finally told Fang Fei his worry. That is, "BLY is not accepting him, even though he think BLY is interested in him." Fang Fei introduced her gay friend to talk GH. She left them alone to talk. Excerpt:

"You mean he allows you to stay at their house and doesn't avoid sleeping with you on one bed?"

GH nodded, "Yes, our relationship is good and close, like I said earlier. But, he just doesn't let me touch him and he doesn't admit that he likes me."

"What's there to admit?" That guy smiled, "Hasn't he admitted already?"

GH's eyes focused on his lips. He liked what that guy said.

"Since he has heard your confession and showed no signs of repulsion, nor any signs of expression, it shows that he has accepted it silently. Think about it. If you are a guy with a normal sexual orientation and a guy confesses to you, won't you have fallen out with you? Will you still allow him to stay in your house? You will avoid him as much as you can! Of course, I am not saying that he's abnormal, but what I mean is that he has already accepted you. Who knows? He might have seen you through long ago. He might be just pretending and playing with you intentionally."

"Actually, I understand what you are saying. But, the problem is..."

"He doesn't let you touch him?" The guy finished GH's words.

GH stood up and shook his hands.

"Actually, this problem is sticky. The key is you."

GH awaited for his words of wisdom.

"4 words- only if you dare!"

GH squinted his eyes slightly.

Actually, the words of disappointment that GH said, while beating him, were his thoughts. And the novel writes:

Despite that, GH was quite happy, seeing that BLY was feeling better. After all, he couldn't bear to see his dear feeling troubled everyday. Mutual feelings can be cultivated with time. If he can accept you when he is down, then it can't be long that he accepts you when he is happy.

"What's up with you?" GH pushed his bicycle and put on a look of arrogance, "I told you long ago that you will be fine but you still felt troubled through the entire night. See, if you were a little happier yesterday, we could have a much better time while doing that, right?

BLY was still giggling upon hearing the first half of his speech. His face changed after hearing the other half.

"Let the past stay in the past. Can you stop talking about that?"

"You're going to deny that it ever happened?"

GH felt indignant. I've taken care of you so well yesterday and now, you take it as nothing has happened. You straightened your hips, pumped your chest up, and immediately stop looking at me!

BLY frowned his eyebrows and spoke with a little sense of unease.

"Who is denying that it ever happened? I am bothered that you keep on talking about it. Is it something to be proud of?"

"See!" Fooling around is a unique trait to GH, "Yesterday, someone was feeling so high, leaving quite a few big scratch marks on my back, pulling a chunk of my hair, shouting loudly... Tsu tsu... Do you want me to imitate you?"

BLY took a big step forward, grabbed hold of GH who wanted to escape, and gave him a round of kicks.

Laughter filled the street.

After You Qi (YQ) scolded Yang Meng (YM) for his eating habit, YQ dragged YM to a corridor. There, he  invited YM to go over to his house for meals this Saturday. His plan was to pester BLY's friend, YM, so much that he will complain to BLY.

GH was teasing BLY while getting a sofa. (Refer to the sweet excerpt below.) And, on getting a table, GH initially criticised BLY's choice. BLY told him to decide based on his liking then. GH thought that every piece of furniture must appeal to BLY so that he would like going to his place. So, he changed his mind and picked BLY's choice.

Excerpt:

"I think you should get more beds, " BLY suggested.

GH seemed puzzled, "Why get more beds?"

"You have many friends. You can let them stay overnight when there's a family gathering once in a while!"

GH said thoughtlessly, "I never let anyone stay overnight at my place, especially guys."

BLY looked at GH as if he wanted to say something.

GH immediately realised his mistake, "You are an exception. You are my wifey..."

"What did you say?" GH got mad instantly. He almost had a "domestic-abuse" session at the mall, "GH, the greatest imperfection from your mum is to give you that mouth!"

GH saw BLY's ear turn all red.

GH felt blissful inside. Even though he's being scolded, he was still happy regardless. He thought, isn't that a matter of time? Wifey, what are you shy about?!

 

>> HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! BLY just never gives up on defending himself against GH's sharp tongue. LOL! xD

After school, there was a sudden light rain. GH got onto the bicycle and asked BLY, for the first time, to lead the way back to BLY's place. So, BLY was delighted and took on the role of an elder brother. And the novel writes:

Along the way, raindrops, carried by a light wind, hit. It felt cold.

GH took off his jacket and wrapped it onto BLY tightly.

Now, BLY realised why GH wanted him to lead the way.

"You don't need to wrap me. I'm not feeling cold. Put it back onto yourself," BLY's face was fully wet.

GH didn't listen to him, and put the bag behind him over BLY's head.

Then, using his lukewarm hands, little by little, GH wiped away the raindrops on BLY's face. The gentle yet pampering action warmed both of their hearts. BLY's cheeks warmed up gradually. GH's hands brushed across the surface once and again. This is his first time not restricting GH from making such endearing moves in public.

Both of them were silent without a word, but their hearts spoke to one another.

Missing from the episode: A shower tease & BLY's fond thought

GH was showering in the newly-built toilet in the house. BLY went in to pass GH a thicker outer coat. And the novel writes:

After entering the toilet and not seeing GH, BLY hung the coat on a nearby hook, and said nonchalantly, "It's rather cold outside. After showering, put on more clothes."

GH felt a gush of warmth inside and almost melted into a puddle of water, flowing down into the pipes.

"Help me see what's wrong with this knob. It's not releasing the cold water."

BLY faced his back against GH, "Don't even try!"

Then, he pushed the door open and walked out.

A comfortable stream of warm water falls onto GH's wide back. GH couldn't help but lamented, it's hard to deal with a clever wifey. I can't even trick him to come here!

 

After GH, it was BLY's turn to shower. The shower room was filled with warm air. A month ago, he couldn't have imagine to bathe in a house at this season. Back then, when the weather got warmer, he used a basin of hot water to bathe at his house. Most of the time, he had go to a nearby public shower place. In it, there were all kinds of people. Since it was cheap, there were many people, so many that even every shower needed to be timed.

It must be said that, ever since he had GH as a friend, BLY and his family had a great improvement in their living standards.

"I will crush you with a huge amount of love. I don't believe it won't move you!"

"I will take care of you, and give over ten years worth of love, that you lacked, all back to you."

When BLY took up GH's piece of wet clothes, these two lines popped up in his head. When he listened to them, he replied with a mere nonchalant expression, but actually he was deeply moved inside. He knew that GH had never given empty talks. And it was exactly this, that made it hard to reject. He couldn't bear to reject.

Who will mind having one more person in this world to love himself?

BLY was only feeling worried. He was worried that he would rely on him even more.

GH saw grandma cracking walnuts with much difficulty and so went over to help. And the novel writes:

GH used his bare hands to crack open over ten walnuts. Grandma Bai was sitting one side, carefully removing the shell and putting them onto a plate.

BLY came out of shower, went into grandma's room, and saw GH cracking walnuts right there.

"Isn't there a small hammer here? Why are you showing off your strength?" BLY frowned his eyebrows, "What if your hands get pricked?"

GH gave a smile, and asked BLY secretly, "If my hands were to get pricked, will you feel hurt?"

BLY casted a glance at GH, "Keep using your hands then!"

"You are really so cruel to me," GH put on the face of a grudge-ridden hubby.

BLY ignored him, walked back into his bedroom, took a book over and pushed it into GH's abdomen.

"Hurry up and revise your history subject. It's been 3 months since you last read an arts subject. A test is coming up in the next few days. Don't disgrace me if you can't pass!"

GH blissfully went over to BLY's side, and he asked in self-indulgence,"If I can't pass, how will that disgrace you?"

"Revise!" BLY screamed in anger.

I agree that there are messy/confusing story lines, customs etc. At first I thought these sloppiness were because the novel's quality. But seeing several excerpt and the translated four chapters, I'd say these sloppiness because of bad directing/sloppy editing. The novel's quality is good, the actors are great (okay, maybe not that great but forgive my bias toward YuZhou! ).

From all those scenes cut/discarded/not included in the series, they should include the ones which show gentle intimacy/emotional progress from GH and BLY. Like the dialogue before giving the moon cake, I think that is super important to show the developing attachment between those two, especially BLY's emotion toward GH. Hopefully, these scenes will be included in the DVD and some kind souls will be willing to sub!

Well hi. 

I've obeserved the thread for some time now and I just can't no longer resist to jump in and join the convo. This series just messes my days lately. I spent most of my days waiting for new episodes or any kind of new updates, watching the scenes I like over and over again. I'm seriously hooked. 

The thing that I appreciate the most about this series is probably the cinematography. It's just undeniably better than most of Asian BLs that I've ever watched. The main actors are all good looking too, even GH's and BLY's parents. Their acting is quite good, if not sometimes very good. I like how consistent BLY's character is. It's not rare to find characters that just changes drastically for no reason in a lot of BL dramas and movies, and sometimes it interferes with the feels. Though I understand that a lot of BL lovers (including me actually, ha) don't really care about these trvial qualities and are satisfied with the fact that it is BL, I'm really happy that the production team really pay attention to these things. 

Story-wise, I agree that it sometimes doesn't make any sense, because they skip a lot of parts from the novel. In fact, the only BL series that makes sense for me is Tong Le Hui (happy together) even that is probably because of the fact that it's not a full BL drama. But then having to fit everything in 15 episodes (/cries), and 25 minutes per episode is not easy, and I fully understand the director's decision on that. 

I'm wondering about the car scene though, and a lot of scenes shown in BTS clips. I always thought that they were all for promotional means? I mean there are clips showing feng song chen wen kissing, when it's not really in the story for them to kiss (at least not in the season?) Is that why the director said that it was added later? That it was shot just for the "BTS clip"?

@alvinboi I'll be honest, I sometimes prefer your translations of the novel over the actual series. As much as I'm a fan of JY and ZZ and the series overall, there are just some things that can only be conveyed with words. Even if they were to act some of this out, I doubt I'd like it as much as the novel version. Thank you so much for taking the time to do these lengthy comparisons. It really helps me fill in the blanks while watching the series. I try to keep these snippets in the back of my mind while watching so that their relationship progression feels smoother and makes more sense

You're welcome! Thanks for reading, and yes I've already started a new one. I'll likely be finishing that first before writing another GH/LY. Starting multiple at once leads to a lot of unfinished work  And I agree. The novel - at least what I'm getting of it via translations - is great, the actors are pretty okay for beginners (honestly, I'm not sure if I'd appreciate them as much if I didn't find them good looking and the plot hot, but that's just how the world works...), but the directing and editing can use some work. On another note, I feel like we're all more excited for this DVD than the next season, HAHA.

Edit: While I'm at it, can someone explain to me how to do Soompi's "Reveal hidden contents" thing?

Why do I feel that everyone is confused about Guhai being the first to bottom? Technically Luoyin bottoms first from the raping. The reason Guhai happily accept being bottom the 2nd time they did it is because he loves Luoyin and he regretted what he did to Luoyin (the rape). 

 

Wait I thought the first time they do it is before the second kidnap...I mean they already rehearsed and filmed the scene. Can it really be in season 2? Or it is just too intimate that they cut the whole thing.

Question, though. I was watching it from the source on page 3 of this thread, but while I was in the middle of episode 11, I suddenly lost connection, and now the link doesn't work and I keep getting redirected to the homepage for v.qq.com. Did I do something wrong? Was it taken down?

Hence why she asked JY about bottoming first.

I'm wondering is it just my imagination. Did BLY have black eyes on episode 11? It looks like he got lack of sleep after the conflict with GH. If it's true then the production team did a really good job at giving hints through little detail

Lou Yin's dad mentioned that he didn't sleep till the morning so yeah...He didn't sleep much just like how he was when he broke up with SH

Overall, it's a really happy journey to discover the missing pieces in the novel (with exceptions like GH's kidnap/ violent behaviors). ^^ It fills the time in between episodes too.

@guhai You can use the Spoiler feature to hide/reveal contents. On the toolbar (with bold, smiley, font colors etc.), there is an icon that looks like an eye. Click on it and the spoiler box will appear. To delete/ copy/ cut the spoiler box, click on the top left corner of the box. I hope this helps.

Oh, someone here said that the series is jumping back and forth in timeline as evident from the editing. Till Episode 12, I can assure you that there's no jumping back and forth, but some events are skipped/ cut. They did change some scenes too. The most recent one will be in Episode 12, where GH were telling BLY that he was running out of cash. In the novel, they were doing that in bed together with the chat on their future career. Up till now, the changes in scenes are usually not that significant to the story development. So, no worries.

IF the series is going to swap out the rape scene with something else, I think there's not much of a concern. The novel writer Chai JiDan is on the production team. I'm sure she would replace it with something that fits the novel timeline and story, IF they really want to swap it.
