Newsie Posted January 5, 2016 Share Posted January 5, 2016 Actors Kang Ha Neul, Hong Jong Hyun, Nam Joo Hyuk, Ji Soo, and EXO’s Baekhyun have confirmed their roles in the upcoming drama “Moon Lovers.” They had previously been reported to be considering roles, as well as IU for the female lead. “Moon Lovers” is an upcoming historical fantasy drama tentatively scheduled to air in the latter half of 2016 and be completely pre-produced. It will be directed by Kim Gyu Tae and the script written by Jo Yoon Young. The five actors have been casted as the sons of the Goryeo Dynasty’s King Taejo. Adapted from the Chinese novel and drama, the drama tells the story of a girl from modern times that travels back in time to the Goryeo Dynasty and falls in love with the king’s sons. Kang Ha Neul has been cast as the eighth prince, who was born at the same time as the fourth prince (Lee Joon Gi) but to a different mother. Despite being eighth in line for the throne, it is said that his character is skilled in literary and martial arts and has ambitions to be king. Hong Jong Hyun has been cast as the third prince, whose mother raised him from an early age to be king. Good at judging a situation and extremely arrogant, his character is said to also be very ambitious. EXO’s Baekhyun, in his full drama debut, has been cast as the tenth prince. His character is said to be very playful and a troublemaker. Nam Joo Hyuk and Ji Soo have been casted as the thirteenth and fourteenth princes respectively, while Lee Joon Gi will play the role of the fourth prince.
