Jung-won is a man with no memory of his childhood and his real family. At the beginning of the film he witnesses the deaths of two young girls. He begins seeing the girls dead bodies sitting at his kitchen table. He meets Yeon, a narcoleptic who is a witness in a infant murder case. She can also see the "ghosts" and he soon finds out she is psychic and can also help him recover his lost memories. After realising his horrific past Jung-won cannot escape the miserable circumstances of his life, and is left in utter loneliness.

The movie centers around the deep, dark, evil demon, secrets that we keep buried within ourselves our whole lives. Something traumatic happens to us when we are a child, and we enter into a state of denial about it, so that when we are older we totally forget all about it, and are shielded from its devastating effects.

Yun's story Yun has this special ability. She can reach right back into the deepest recesses of the human mind, and make a person face their dark demons. When Yun showed her friend what happened to her as a child (she had to cannibalize her deceased mother just to stay alive after her death), she couldn't accept it and couldn't live with herself, leading her to ultimately kill her child along with Yun's baby, and then herself.

Jung Won's story At the beginning of the film, he witnessed the death of two young girls inside a train. Since then, he kept seeing the girls dead bodies sitting on his dining table and he also kept having unexplainable nightmares. He then met Yun who can also see the two girls. Yun helps Jung-Won to try and understand why he has the nightmares, by showing him his past (He had a really abusive father and one day Jung-Won set the house on fire to try and kill his father; he tried to protect his little sister by putting her in the closet, but unfortunately she was caught in the flames and died as well).

But he didn't believe it and confronts who he thought was his real father, but he doesn't admit anything to Jung-Won. Jung-Won takes this as proof Yun is wrong, and refuses to ever see her again, because to see her is to remember the past.

Yun wanted to prove him that she's telling the truth so she kills herself by jumping off the building. Jung-won then destroyes his kitchen table (where he kept seeing the vision of the 2 little dead girls, trying to remind him of the past), hoping to get back to his normal life.

He then called his fiancee, Hee Eun to return home (she left him) telling her that he loves her and would wait in his apartment. He then remembered that Hee Eun bought the smashed table set and he wanted it to be in good shape when she comes back - more like going back to how his life was before. So he bought the same table, chairs, and lamps and waits for her to return. Instead, the two girls' and Yun's ghosts sit at the table, uninvited.

A lot of people didn't like this movie coz of its slow pacing, length and its pretty hard to understand. Maybe because its not your typical 'horror' film. What they're trying to prove in this movie is that reality is more terrifying than the ghostly images we see in horror films.

Indeed, it's not an "horror movie" (if it means something).

I see it as a psychologic drama, or something like that.

Anyway, it's a good movie, maybe the best with Jeon Ji-Hyeon (except Windstruck of course) and her best performance, far avay from the classic romantic comedy roles she usually have. It's good for her to break her image, show that she can do other things.

And the movie itself is interresting, some kind of extreme in a certain way, I'm glad that it was not toned down in order to catch a bigger audience.
