Actor Park Shi Hoo is locked in a legal battle with a production company, identified only as Company K.

Company K first submitted the lawsuit against Park Shi Hoo and Didim 531 on December 4 for damages sustained when they failed to fulfill the terms of a production contract regarding a music drama and photo book. However, Park Shi Hoo has decided to appeal the court’s decision.

In August 2013, Company K claimed that Park Shi Hoo began filming for a music drama and photo book in Thailand in September 2012, but production halted halfway through. Of the 2 billion won (approximately $1.7 million) spent on production, Company K filed a lawsuit demanding 300 million won (approximately $255,635) in damages. However, in the first trial, the court ruled in favor of Park Shi Hoo, and Company K immediately filed for an appeal.

According to Park Shi Hoo’s lawyers, Park Shi Hoo and his previous management company Didim 531 were ordered by a judge to pay 200 million won (approximately $170,417) in damages to Company K on December 17. They have since submitted an appeal to the ruling.

Meanwhile, Park Shi Hoo is set to appear in the new drama “Neighborhood Hero” next year.
