I dont know, but I want to ask ( this particular scene keep bugging me), if I ask in MT I dont know what will happen T_T. So I just ask here.

During the scene 2015, the cafe play Lee Seung Hwan song, DS said even now they still listen to Lee Seung Hwan songs, and have Lee Seung Hwan album(?) collection. Considering on what happen in episode 18, will JH still listen to Lee Seung Hwan if he is the husband? If TK is the husband than it is plausible for the couple to still listening to Lee Seung Hwan, sentimental value. If the husband is JH? isnt it weird if he listening to Lee Seung Hwan songs?

I kept my face neutral during ep 18, but when the scene of Junghwan's ring faded, and they begin to show JH-DS's moments, my eyes got teary 

@kentangbakar: I think at least for now we can be assure about Lee Seung Hwan, not only Taek and DS attended his concert (that can be counted as the date which started something new for them), but also Taek has a collection of LSH tapes in his room. Meanwhile, in JH's car, there're only Lee Moon Sae's tapes

There is some of my points after watching Ep 17,18 with sub.

- DS introduced her colleague to Mr Assitant at the Baduk Institute, so she could know everything about Taek at the Institute via talking with her colleague?

And vice versa, Taek also knew all the thing about Duk Sun because look like Mr Assistant in the same way?

Then the film Forrest Gum, did he watch because he knew Duk Sun also watched it?

- He tries to drive the car but for what? Because Duk Sun usually got drunk and he wants to send her to home?

- When Jung Hwan drove Duk Sun to the garthering place, she kept looking at the Beeper, did she give her number to Taek and ask him to send message to her after the concert?

- After the Lee Seung Hwan concert, to the current scene with adult Duk Sun, there is old song were played and she found that LSH song and she said she usually listen to this at home. If, the ending game is JH, it should be Lee Moon Se.    Why? 

Because their first concert was Lee Moon Se and even in his car at 1994, DS found that all of LMS's tapes, can he change? 

( but I love this point of JH, because he kept all the memory of her many years and their is a very common way of loving someone, love all the thing related to them)

And the way Taek appeared at concert Lee Seung Hwan is it the same with the way PD nim named him on the hunting game? 

It likes, when Mr Assistant was talking with his girlfriend and Taek passed by with emotionless face and after that we saw a whole process of Jung Hwan was running to the concert speedily but who arrived first? Uri Taekie.

The first snowing day scene had the same way. Eventhough there is no showing of Taek during the talk between Duk Sun and Seon Woo, but finally, who pulled Duk Sun out of sadness? Uri Taek. ( And pulled us to his ship too....)

So, Episode 6 is the starting of Taekitanic.

Episode 3(triangle,too)*6=18 gave another step.

I posted too long. Back to watching the kiss scene. Aigoo...can't count how many times I did it.

Thats it!! Just like that movie when the lead boy cant say to his friend that he like the girls and finally the girl is upset because she thinks the guy is not sincerely like her. Even though JW finally confessed but he turns it to be just a joke..it's very dissapointing. Why he cant just be brave and admit it all. Or maybe the writer trolling for another plot twist?? Im very sure but at the same time im not sure too

Me too, i feel like the writer might be trolling us again. But at the end of the scene, it is clearly seen that the ring is in Jung hwan's side, whereas when he confess, i reckon he gave the ring to Deoksun. So, maybe DS has reject him?

On Future Husband, Ep 9. 

@monsterlife --

You said that Taec didn’t behave anything like the Future Husband, so you feared that he wasn’t the husband.  I said, you didn’t have to worry, he IS the Future Husband. According to the script, there isn't anybody else. I expected JH's graceful exit although I didn't think it will come this early. And yes, I expected that JH's major flaw was that he didn't cross the line. From dramabeans: "He was more ardent, and I should’ve had more courage. It wasn’t the red lights, nor the timing that was bad… but the countless times I hesitated.”     

For now, I’ll only explain the Future Husband in Episode 9: What It Means to Cross a Line, and hold off the explanations for the other episodes -- not because the hints and clues are nonexistent but -- because I prefer to release info gradually. There's no rush.  And my girlfriends and I will most choose this show for a rewatch with detailed analyses in another forum. 

Here we go then. I’ve screenshot the necessary segments for you convenience. 

Part 1. DS and TK are looking at souvenir photograph of DS and JH.  Remember: TK is a jealous guy. He may have a stone face, but he does observe the guys DS hangs out with. Knowing that, how do you think he feels at this moment while they’re glancing at the pic of DS and JH – that very same picture that caused him grief when he found it in JH’s wallet 30 years ago? 

DS: I think he must have liked me since then. [she’s bragging about an ex-flame. lol. to her jealous husband.]
TK: [remains silent, but he glances at her. NOTE: Only TK knows how close this pic had caused a rift among friends. He lied to JH to preserve the peace.] 
DS: Look at how he put his hand on my shoulder [lol. Now she’s really turning the screw. Personally, I think it’s shabby to talk about exes with your current beau.]
DS: Look at the expression. He’s so happy. [TK is rubbing his lips. Rubbing lips signals discomfort. It’s a self-soothing behavior.]  

TK: Well she was pretty back then. [He changes topic by calling her pretty. And she agrees that JH’ve must been happy to be with her because she was a pretty girl. Note here: Only TK consistently and openly calls her pretty, no matter what. JH always hesitated to call her pretty.] 
DS: What about now?
TK: Do you want me to hand you a mirror? [looks her up and down]
DS: [she bites; he cradles his arm.] 

I understand how you’d agree with the general consensus that TK insulted her with his comment. This is how his question was perceived by many: “You're ugly. Do you really need a mirror to remind yourself of how ugly you are?” 

However, this consensus is INCONSISTENT with what we know of TK’s character. Look at the script. Even with the mouse scare, and DR begging him to change his mind, he still thought her cute. 

That's why I think viewers and DS misunderstood TK’s comment. He could have meant this: “Do you REALLY need me to get you a mirror to remind you how PRETTY you looked?” Or this, "A mirror? What's that? You don't need that." and his eyes flitted between her eyes and lips.   

But DS misunderstood his joke and his flirting style, and bit him instead. lol. 

Now, how do I know that this is Taec?  Why do I insist that this is TK?  The director left clues when he coached the actors on how to act their part. He coached JH for this episode lol. 

It’s obvious if you know where to look. I’ll show you –

Earlier in the episode, JH and DS were walking out of the concert. DS was so hyper from the concert that she was hitting JH’s arm. What did JH do? He shrugged off her hard punches, told her to stop it because it hurts, then put his hands in his pockets.   

Compare this to TY’s behavior, two episodes LATER. DS was also beating him to the ground, but he wasn’t pushing her off him. After she stopped punching, he complained, “Geez, you hit too hard.”  Did you notice where his hands went? His hands covered his arms where he got pummeled. They were painful so he was holding them. lol.

Apropos, is this why some shippers thought he was gay? Too funny. The character was according to the director's orders. 

Now, go back to the Future Husband. @monsterlife. Observe what the Future Husband did after he got bitten by DS? See it? He covered it, too. Unlike JH. Like TY. He was holding it because it was painful. 

See that? There are more of details which reveal character quirks, shared by TK and the Future Husband, all over the series. They've been coordinated. Don’t go for the obvious decoys like the “tsundere-ness” of the actor, a ridiculous patch, and the snarkiness. No. Look instead for subtleties and inside jokes, and also for explanation of characters.   

For instance, viewers should know JH’s character by now. JH will never smoke… because of his brother. Again, there have been previous hints; the latest of which was JH's hero-worship of his Hyung. JH loves his brother to the point that he lives his dreams. Now, his brother has a weak heart. Do you honestly think then JH would risk or jeopardize his own perfect health, knowing of his Hyung’s imperfect heart condition? That would be a major scriptwriter's disconnect if ever that happened. Also, the sole redeeming grace of the schoolyard soccer bully, according to JH, was that he's a non-smoker. Reconcile these "clues" to what we know of the Future Husband? He smokes.  

Part 2. The second dialogue makes sense only if it’s applied to TK. 

Skeptics would say it’s impossible that a sweet kid like TK would grow up into a “snarky” Future Husband. But let’s walk this through together, @monsterlife.

Let’s get the obvious hints out of the way: 

1. emotionless face that qualifies as a “tsundere” look: check
2. DS nagging TK about dressing warmly: check 

3. He isn’t dressed up for the cold weather: check 
4. the water. He looks like Taec drinking water with his medicine: check

Here’s the dialogue according to dramafever.

DS: Honey! When was this?
TK: [cough. cough. Note: TK was always the sickly kid in the neighborhood.]
DS: I told you to wear warmer clothes. But you really don’t listen. [Yes, that was true then, and it’s still true now.]
TK: Hmmm. January 1989.
DS: Wow. You really remember the most peculiar things, huh? [See, this is a running joke for TK. TK forgets AND remembers the weirdest things, like how many stitches he received for wrestling DS.]
DS:  This was the best day of your life, right?  How could you remember something that happened 30 years ago so well. I guess people do come to remember everything so well when they get older.

Here's the conventional interpretation of this conversation:  DS was referring to the day SHE was there to play a supporting role in helping win a prestigious Baduk tournament. Of course, they had better days as a couple --  like the Beach day -- but this day was special because she was there by his side to make sure that he ate his meal, never missed a meal, had a good sleep in a room that was nice and warm, he was at his peak playing condition. Those were his own words.  

But for me, something’s not quite right with this interpretation, @monsterlife. It's kinda shallow and it doesn’t jive with the scene. Look at the video again if you want. She brought the picture frame near her heart as she talked about how people remember more as they age. 

Then she elbowed him gently. That was a deliberate brush against him, and he looked down at it.  Then, she tapped the picture frame. Was she trying to jog his memory over something?  Was she hinting about something that happened that day this photo was taken?  lol. Then, she poked his leg playfully. If you think about it, there’s nothing usual about this behavior; DS' has been physically playful with him, like patting his buttcheek or wrestling for his shoes.

But the Husband was looking at her here. He probably was wondering, “What do you want? What’s going on? What are you up to?”  So he pointed it out:

TK: Are you getting senile? The date is written right there at the bottom.

lol. This isn’t “tsundere”. His words showed his quick grasp of the situation. She was up to something: pretending not to know the day, giving him an elbow brush, twiddling her fingers, poking him. Is she trying to remind him of something special? His next words were tone down; he actually used a coaxing voice to make her look at him again.. 

TK: You’re embarrassed, right. I bet you are.  

She wasn’t amused. I doubt she was embarrassed because she MISSED seeing the date on the picture. I think she was MORE embarrassed because she was trying to be cute/coy, wanting to take a trip down memory lane, etc., and her husband didn’t pick up on it. So, now she was annoyed with him.

TK: Want some water?
DS: I hope you choke on it. [That isn’t really how it was translated, but that’s what I would have said. lol.] 

The interesting here is the cosmic joke. Looking at their photograph, TK turned the table on DS and made DS look like a “pabo” for not seeing the date [or did she?]. But thirty years ago, it was DS who made TK feel like a “pabo” because he didn’t recognize his own PINK sweater. 

See that?  In any dialogue between long term married couple, there are going to be inside jokes or couple humor that we simply aren’t privy too. We’re outsiders. DS-TK couple dynamics could have a different interpretation other than the one proposed by the mainstream. One’s person snarkiness might be another person’s comedy gold or another person touché moment.

Guys, kind of out of topic here (ok not really), but does anyone know the song for ep 17 during the kiss and bridal-style TKDS scene?

I've been shazam-ing both, but it always comes up with an entirely different song  i really really love those two songs.. would really appreciate it if anyone has youtube links to the songs!

although this is so far my favourite track (because it reminds me of the beautiful friendship of this neighbourhood)

Since the negative response from knetz and other ship are so big, is there a possibility that the writer might change the endgame? Well, I get a little confidence from the last two episode that this ship can sail hehe thanks!

And we all know that in episode 6, it was the iconic phone call scene of Taek asking Deoksun out to watch a movie.

So literally Taek entering his room at 6 o'clock = Taek entering the picture as a husband contender in episode 6

6 is now my favorite number  6 o'clock = Taek = CHOI TAEK 6 DAN  is the husband so keep an eye on this boy's character  development

Episode 18 remarks :

Did the boys go to the army...if it's not the case then our otp may be on hold for a moment .__. even though I want them to be together 
I feel like they shouldn't reveal their relationship right after Junghwan's confession :/ I'd like them to wait until he completely get rid of
his lingering feelings so that all of them stay comfortable with each others ><

Right after Junghwan's confession I noticed a lot of people saying that Dongryeong and Sunwoo really took junghwan's confession as a joke but I don't think so...DR,SW realised that it was THE REAL THING the guy was truly confessing it's just that they didn't want Doksun to be uncomfortable...they wanted to erase the awkwardness and went with the flow as Junghwan's retrieved and made it out to be a joke >< I feel like they didn't want to embarass their buddy T_T
Although Doksun understood everything she went with the flow too...she matured a lot.

I still wanna know if the boys ever asked Taek why he didn't confess to Doksun in the past and if he forgot about her ...

Amaazing post...You sure spotted out all the right clues! 

Ah..count me in ...I've been replaying the bridal run + the kiss scene all day long ..Also with the false hope that I might be a helping hand to @Phuong Tam Nguyen's ongoing CSI investigations.But in vain,I've tried to look for the exact dimension of TK's mat' and to what nooks and corners DS might stumble to fall upon his scanty bed and turn out lying in that exact 90 degree position...=SS.

Excuse me...this is a Reply series, not Winter Sonata for heaven sake! This is a heartwarming family rom/com... There won't be any tragedies in the series,  especially not very late in the series. The last 2 episodes will focus only on the revelation, execution & romance of the otp.

Was it so hard to accept PBG was decided as the main male aka Hyeri leading man since long before the drama started, as has been published in news & reported the entertainment news on TV. JRY name was never mentioned until much later...it has always  been PBG & GKP

I wonder if those people watching the same drama...The same JH confession scene? 

The one with DS looking at the door every time someone open it BEFORE JH confession came out of nowhere (for DS) and AFTER his confession she kept on looking at the door! ...well to put it bluntly she was just not interested in JH's confession. Sure she was touch with the confession,  even grateful  that JH thinks highly of her but she is sorry she cant return his feeling becos she wants to be with someone else, whom she's hoping/waiting to walk tru that door.

Also do remember the story was brought to us from DS & her husband pov. Wud she include Taek's wet dream of HER in the interview if he is not her husband? Will JH be ok with it if he's the hubby? Is he that generous? So far notice there's nothing told or share abt DS & JH that isnt appropriate or out of line. Even the JH-DH bedscene was told in an innocent way. That JH who's half asleep walking into his room forgetting the Sung sisters were using it. Even so he stayed for a moment as she beg him to go to concert with her & that's it, he went back to his assigned bed.

yeah at first when i watch i thought they really took it as a joke but after watching couple time and read their face i think they definitely know it real deal but they act fast after their shock playing along to make it as joke just like JH want...same with DS she know it real and i think she is glad knowing the truth since it one of the thing bothering her in the past about JH feeling finally she get the answer but at same time it in the past for her..the confession don't change how she feel for Taek judging after that she still focusing more on waiting for Taek to come rather than get affected by the confession even JH sense she keep looking at the door..the ring left behind meaning it the end for them..

DR is very wise and SW the one can tell that eyes can't lie so it possible they know it real based on how JH say it and his expression but since they are all mature adult now and smarter they deal in good way without make thing even more awkward and just act like normal...for them their friendship is what matter the most..

JH&TK playing noble to save the friendship even both of them remain awkward alone but they are still like normal whenever the 5 are together which show how special what they have and can't be broken easily...even JH&DS finally able to act like normal again when he drive her and joke around after years of being awkward...i hope to see JH and TK to patch thing up as well...

I always asked myself the same question everytime I read comments somewhere else..  are we watching the same drama? lol.. but then I accepted that people are different from each other and.. ignorance is a bliss..  that's why I really appreciate neutral views or opinion from those who ships the writer..
