Let’s compare this with how the show highlighted TK’s selective memory many, many times. He remembered the craziest things, and since episode 0 this trait of his has been made known to us (I posted about this before). That scene that you brought up, dear @hafunohane, also highlights Taek's power of observation and it's been done before. Eerily similar... in that group ramyun meal when he mentions the field trip both schools are going to... SW, "You remembered huh?" Taek (in a silent proto-husband mode) "It's right here printed down in the paper in front of me... and I am reading it!!! (eta: upside down....)" and he points at that piece of paper... Compare to this scene... DS, "Oh you remember the most peculiar thing.... " and she goes on and on, romanticising it... Husband (understandably exasperated...), "the date is written right there on the bottom..." and he points at it... This show has had the husband pegged down long before it started.... mangachickava
Found this article on 10 things of soulmates. thought it was interesting (and scary...) how well it applied to TK/DS. 1. It's something inside: "Describing how a soulmate makes you feel is difficult. It's a tenacious, profound and lingering emotion which no words can encompass." ( WHAT DID TK SAY TO SW, WHAT DID DS SAY TO DR...dont remember this for JH) 2. Flashbacks ( DS flashback to TK coming to the street, TK flashback in China...JH doesn't seem to have one...) 3. You just get each other. ( DS knows what to say or do for TK health, and TK knows what's wrong with DS aka flasher scene) 4. You fall in love with their flaws. "No relationship is perfect, and even soulmate relationships will experience ups and downs. Still, that bond will be much harder to break. Soulmates have an easier time of accepting, even learning to love, each other's imperfections. Your relationship is more likely to be a soulmate match if you both love each other exactly as you each are, accepting both the great and awful tendencies we all have." GIVE ME THE TIME JUMP 5. It's intense. 6. You two against the world. ( TK with baduk, DS with all the haters) 7. You're mentally inseparable: "Soulmates often have a mental connection similar to twins. They might pick up the phone to call each other at the exact same time. Though life may keep you apart at times, your minds will always be in tune if you are soulmates." 8. You feel secure and protected: " Regardless of the gender of your partner, he or she should always make you feel secure and protected. This means that if you're a man, yes, your woman should make you feel protected, too! Your soulmate will make you feel like you have a guardian angel by your side. A person who plays on your insecurities, whether consciously or subconsciously, is not your soulmate." 9. You can't imagine your life without them. " A soulmate is not someone you can walk away from that easily. It is someone you can't imagine being without, a person you believe is worth sticking with and fighting for." 10. You look each other in the eye.

Guest gerimisore
A shipper can dream, right? It's D-Day, guys!!! Here our Deoksun wants to personally cheer on us and our super mega amazing ship! If you notice, DS wears Taek's mitten too :"> (It seems like she secretly wants us and Taekie to arrive at the "right port" :"> bhihihihi) This is my doodle from yesterday. I wrote H-1 instead of D-Day so I changed it using PS ^^; Pardon the poor quality. I didn't bring my scanner home :(( I might sound like a broken record, but truly I am so amazed at the ability of the people here in reading the subtext and finding the hidden clues. I mean, how can you guys??? HOW CAAAAN???? Are you sure you're not a part of secret organization or something? O: (But then again, if you indeed are, since it's a secret then you won't be able to tell us as well. lel) It's almost over, guys!!! Finally, the torture ends! I just wanna reminded you all that it isn't a big hint of the husband hunt end game, but maybe it's prove that the writer already create Taek's character since a long time ago for this Reply 1988. st4rdust
@hafunohaneThanks for the brilliantly dissected post!! I enjoyed reading it! Now i have a little more to add on if you don't mind... Regarding the selective memory of Choi Taekie... The problem was he didn't really bother with the mannito that day ( same as Bora). He was in a rush to get to the Baduk center, and if you noticed, he only picked the name AND then immediately stuck it into his pocket. If he opened it to see DS's name right then, you can be sure he will never forget he had to get her something until the day he dies hahahaha the entire episode was talking about how they were 18 and already too grown up to be bothered with things like secret santa... It only became important to Taek when he opened it that night and saw he got DS that he rushed out in winter in his jammies to look for her and insisted to get her something she wanted... Its also because he had always respected her and never did those sickening chaebol moves where the rich guy showers the poor candy girl with expensive presents all the time just because he could... So when this chance came up to buy her something she wanted, he wasn't about to give it up... As for how DS felt in the matter, I think she was just excited about the secret santa once she confirmed that Taek is hers. Why Taek? JH is rich too? She even tells Taek she will wait up for him until he comes back from Busan... Was she that excited to get a pair of gloves? She just wanted an excuse to wait for him and see him the moment he is back ! And he told her not to fall asleep and wait for him to drop by... BUT she sat there in the cold outside, waiting for goodness how long that she missed the ( I noticed its usually 1030pm) news that Taek lost.... and No Eul was returning from somewhere outside as well... She waited in the COLD for an hour plus so that she can get her hands on the gloves? I think not... hehehe... **add on now that I read your post again : I am guessing that DS realised something about the gloves... that she didn't feel that same 'choking excitement' she felt when she thought Taek brought them to her that morning. Maybe she started to wonder why that is. It would seem to me that, if her friends had not distracted DS with the fact that JH liked her, she may have been well on her way to finding out how she really feels about Taek...

Popular Post Meliere
LOLOL fanfic successfully censored. It's now PG 13 (kinda sorta). Young ones, please read at your discretion. Deok Sun smelled the coffee and turned in protest. Burrowing her face deep against his pillow, she sunk languidly into a familiar scent. But when her arm searched for him, his side of the bed was found to be empty. “Taek-ah?” She stumbled out of the bedroom, eyes groggy. There. In a corner by the window sat Choi Taek 6-dan, poised calmly before an ironing board like some feudal-era samurai. “Are you ironing?" He nodded with ecstatic certainty. She pulled at her hair and looked around the room: plants watered, the table set, fresh coffee, morning paper propped by the countertop. A warm breeze tore through the open window and Deok Sun caught the smell of fresh laundry. Omo .. the curtains. Did he wash those too? “Taek-ah, it’s 7 am on a Sunday morning. Come back to bed with me.” [the rest under the cut] Spoiler He took in the sight of her—hair askew, rather undressed save the long oversized shirt she’s managed to pilfer from his wardrobe—and gulped visibly. Straightening his shirt collar, he bit his lower lip and glanced towards the kitchen. “Want breakfast? I made you omelets and quiche.” He smiled, and rather slyly added, “…yeobo.” “Why I ought to ..!” Deok Sun bared her teeth. “Yeobo? Who’s your yeobo?” He looked at her, undaunted. “You.” “I’m not your wife.” Choi Taek blinked with lethal nonchalance. “Deok Sun-ah, the wedding’s in 72 days—” he glanced at the clock “—7 hours 40 minutes and 23.. 22. ..21—” he fell mute when said fiancé ripped the iron out of his hands and practically threatened to smack him with it. “C-ccareful, yeobo.” “Who’s your yeobo?!” “You.” She gave up and unplugged the chord. “Yah, Deoksun, I’m not done ironing.” “Oh shut up.” She plopped down unceremoniously and rested her head against his lap. Looking up, she saw his smile and softened. When most things in life carried that gnawing whiff of uncertainty, in his smile she sensed a perfect happiness more constant than all vows. “Taek-ah, how long until we’re married?” “72 days 36 minutes and 10 seconds,” he replied. She laughed a little and reached up for his face. His caught her hands, interlocking his fingers with hers. “But say, Deok Sun-ah.” He peered down at her thoughtfully. “Have you been studying for your nursing exam? I flipped through your books and your notes are all wrong.” She bolted, almost head-butting him in the process. “Yah .. YAH.. you looked through my books? Last month it was my diary.” She pummeled at him with her fist. “You want to become a nurse? Go ahead! Go ahead, you baduki.” “Yeobo! … Yeobo! It hurts,” he managed. “I get bored between matches.” Deok Sun took a deep breath and tried in vain to temper her mounting irritation. She stalked around the apartment, noting that their music records have been rearranged by year. The cereal boxes on the top cabinet have been ordered by fiber content. And then, there’s his collection of yellow ceramic ducks (started when they began dating), which were arranged in formations that looked suspiciously baduk-esque. The nursing books she had left discarded everywhere were now organized by subject and by alphabet on their bookshelf. Eyes narrowed, she charged into the bedroom and … lo behold, he had re-arranged her clothes as well. She muffled a scream into a coat sleeve. Crazy. She must have gone crazy to accept his proposal. “Deok Sun-ah, what are you doing?” She heard him query distantly, in that placid manner of his. “Come eat breakfast. Omelet or quiche? I made both.” She stomped out, like a t-rex, and stationed herself in the kitchen. “Kimchi pancakes. I want kimchi pancakes. I'm going to make them.” “Kimchi pancakes.” Taek blinked, so cutely it made her blood curdle. “But why?” “Because I feel like it, you idiot.” It drove her mad to see him so capable— to see him not need her as much as she thought he would. When they began living together some three months ago, she’d assumed she was to take up the bulk of day-to-day chores. But then like some dutiful wife, Choi Taek 6 dan announced he was taking a break from his career to “prepare for his marriage” …. whatever that meant. And before she was aware she was depending on him, she'd began coming home from nursing school to warm meals and freshly washed towels. But that was not all. It drove her crazy with worry to leave someone like him unsupervised. She once came home to find him baking three different chickens in three different ovens, all to ‘evaluate’ the best temperature-to-cook-time ratio. Then there are those weird assortment of Taek-made fruit jams, most of which she’d never dare try. Needless to say, there are days when she prayed fervently for him to resume his career— just so there’s something else to occupy his mind. Sighing, she opened the fridge— — and closed it again. “Why are there six jars of kimchi in the fridge? Yah, Choi Taek, who are you?” He beamed. “Your husband.” “When did you make all this kimchi?” “Didn’t Bora tell you?” He raised a brow. “Sunwoo and I are going to cooking classes together.” More beaming. “Her suggestion. She paid for it too.” “Aigo, of course she should pay for it. That rich btich lawyer.” As per usual, he shrunk a little at her aggressively foul mouth. “My poor Taekie… did you suffer a lot?” “A little.” He pressed his lips together. “In the beginning.” “What? Why? What did you do?” “Threw in the vinegar while the oil was hot. Almost blinded Sunwoo in the eye.” Deok Sun laughed, somewhat pleased. “Omo, thank god we don’t have to go into hiding. You know Sung Bora would’ve hired hit men to take us down.” “But Deok Sun, I can cook now.” He hobbled from his seat eagerly. “Want me to make you some ramyun?” “NO.” Taek looked somewhat miffed. “You know, I’m doing better than Sunwoo in the class. Though ..” he scratched at his chin “admittedly he really is no good.” “Must take after Sunyoung.” “Hey! Appa says her food is delicious.” She smiled wryly. “Good for him. … aigo, where did all the pots and pans go?” Bending over, she puzzled around the alien bottom cabinets, having never really used them since moving in. “The way to the heart is through the stomach .. or is it really the other way aroun—” Every nerve along her stomach stretched taunt when she stood and felt his body behind her. His arms snaked around her; turning, she felt the small of her back touch the cold marble countertop. “Deok Sun – ah.” Sung Deok Sun. What a prim, boring name. But from his lips it sounded more tender and lovely than the promise of eternal summer. “Deok Sun – ah, make kimchi pancakes another time. I made you breakfast ... won’t you try some?” She leaned forward on tiptoes and pulled him for a quick kiss. But he crushed her hands in his own and closed the space between them. “I will.” She was breathless now. “If you come back to bed with me.” His eyes, dark and serpentine, traveled to the hollow of her neck. In a corner, the iron burned a steady hole along a shirt sleeve. But Choi Taek 6-dan had already carried his bride into the bedroom. [Epilogue] : no the iron didn’t start a fire. *goat bleep*

kentangbakar
6 hours ago, mangachickava said: @hafunohane you are amazing. Thank you for putting the time to compile everything, Also I think the importance of Pagers/Telephones in "ANSWER me" installments is really important and metaphorical...hence the possible spoiler of DS at a telephone booth at the concert can be an important indicator Regarding BR/TK parallels, I kinda want to highlight some things that the BR we meet in early episodes does not capture the complex character that she is. I actually find her so much more similar to TK then JH and we have to remember some things about her that 1) she is the oldest! WOMAN in her family aka her freedom in life is restricted compared to TK 2) she is in a low-income family Unlike TK who had the support to pursue his abilities to the fullest degree, BR COULDN'T and the fact she could even hope/attempt the greatness she knows she is capable of would feed a lot of bitter thoughts and make her more angry/resentful than her true character. The BR we meet in the first episodes is an unhealthy version of her, which is fine because we all have those stages in our life, but we can not "lock" her into that box. TK/DS fans might miss the importance of the POV in the early episodes where from DS eyes Bora seemed like a mean sister/tutor, but from SW's eyes Bora was laughing and enjoying her sister's song during their tutoring session. (you know how SW mom does not like Bora...well her judge of character is not the best...remember what she said of TK's dad during the first batch of episodes) Bora is BOTH people (hence why she is also a main lead in my books because only multifaceted characters get that much character work) Bora and TK are both very smart, hardworking, and reserved individuals. We have not been shown this yet, but it has been implied that TK is very "picky" at letting people into his life...I am sure he gave A LOT of thought about his feelings towards DS and had the same level of hesitation that BR showed when SW confessed. On the weekend after ep 17,18 I might finally finish my "characterization/personality" analysis of TK,DS,JH,BR, and SW and hopefully, I will make more sense then (with examples to support) Hi, should I introduce myself again?, I from SWxBR shipper forum, and silent reader for both husband candidate forum =)), I just want to say thank you for your observation of BR, especially the highlighted part. Can I share this post to my fellow SWxBR chingu-deul? I will credit back to you of course. Thank you =))
shyyraa
Looks like there will be a new OST releasing with Junghwan on the cover. Though I'm curious...how come OST part 9's cover art is so different from the rest? As in it's so much prettier aesthetically speaking. and I'm not just saying that because Taek and Deoksun are on the cover. hahaha But really...why is it the odd one out? Just look at how the design has been consistent so far.. and then OST part 9 looks like this: Quite different, no? and the only other cover art that is different from the rest is OST Part 3. is this suppose to mean anything? or are they just rotating designers? hahahaha I'm a graphic designer so it kinda bugs me since consistency is pretty much an important thing for us to take note of when it comes to designing something which belongs to it's own group or series. The only time we do design differently from the rest is if we want it to stand out and highlight its importance. EDIT: So I'm guessing that they are using it to highlight the importance of the song itself or rather the song is being used for significant or momentous turning points in the drama. As we all know OST part 3 is being used during the major turning point of Junghwan's feelings towards Deoksun. And as for OST part 9, although it has not been used yet but I believe that it will be used for a major turning point as well. And as the title of the song suggests, I'm gonna assume that momentous turning point will be the much anticipated time jump.
