Ikr. I was in love with pbg's acting since i watched IRY. Didnt really watch NC because i know PBG didnt get the girl and i would be broken hearted watching it. PBG is not only about looks like some korean actors (no offense meant). I thought he was when i started seeing him in IRY in the beginning. cant deny that he's good looking. But that's not all. When his brother (SIG) confronted him, the way he cries and shows how hurt he was, his acting was priceless.

I watch AM88 because of PBG tbh. I was quite disheartened in the first several episodes when he has so little dialogues and gets so little screen time. I was over the moon watching the interations between taek and ds in episode 9 & 10. 

It will be great if taek is the husband but its fine if he's not and the writer gives him a happy + satisfying ending despite everything. I didnt watch the 2 previous seasons so i am not sure what happened to the second leads. Just got some idea from reading the post in this thread. 

The last four episodes should be very rushed. How do you tie up all loose ends with just 4 episodes ahead.

for the sake of our health, I really hope they release the preview during bts releases airing in a few hours ( even though the most important things wont be in it >.< and they might hardcore troll us)

also two more small things I thought about

1)

in the family poster the color of green-yellow-blue is in the background.....which matches the triangle of the color theory *cough* it also matches TK and JH gate colors *cough*

2) So DS character was based on Hyeri, right? So, Hyeri in real life dated Tony An who was 16 years older than her....then TK character is based on Lee Chang Ho, right? He married someone 12 years younger ..... hmmm interesting no?

had another thought...

in ep 15 and 16, TK/PBG hair is thinner in some scenes vs others...like especially in ep 15 if you compare him in the blue marble scene vs playing in the competition in the early part of the ep you can see a clear difference in the density of his bowl cut...now in the fan shooting sighting on the 14th (?) of December they had two scenes: one was TK and DS in a middle school ( still hasn't happened) and TK playing in a baduk competition wearing the same checkered shirt as the one in ep 15 where he is spotting a fuller bowl cut hair style. Now, I am hypothesising that PBG had to thin his hair out because it is much easier to style it up and out of his face then if it was the same thickness that gave him the bowl cut that he has had predominantly in the series. The instagram picture by the actress  playing Bora of PBG eating with his hair covered by his coat hoody also makes me think that he has already potentially filmed future scenes...i might be looking to into it but oh well

guys :)) As I rewatch a few episodes, I can't help wondering if DR likes DS. I'm not sure but their friendship is really something. We all have seen how DR is always in tune with DS. Some of DS-DR moments that I like are:

Yeah, so besides TK-DS moments, I really love to see DR and DS together too. They click so well  but DR doesn't seem to appear much. He's like the mix of TK and JH (without the genius/intelligence part haha), he's emotionally mature and very perceptive too

Indeed. Taek's mental age is probably 10++ years older than DS's... Just like in the manitto scene.. 

 

Like Bora who disses the game as childish, he does not think it important, until he realises he's got "DS" name. It's interesting that the scene includes the iceman, symbol of an effort to fulfill a little girl's (Jinjoo's) wish by the parents...

Here, Taek is behaving "fatherly" towards DS...

"I'll give you everything you want... one..."  

"Gloves. I want pink gloves..."

A mirror to what the parents did to Jinjoo, asking her what she wants from Santa...

i always enjoy DS-DR interaction&chemistry since beginning tbh..they really super close and DS even share her problem with DR and DR even the 1st one who say DS is cute XD

Well he might be like Haitai in 94 who actually like nj but never try to pursue her and always stay loyal as her close friend and giving support....i hope he get happy ending and nice job in future XD

i love reading that person from mt opinion since there so many thing i miss but realize it all there after watching again like how it all from Taek pov from beginning the camera showing through his eyes...i wish i am that sharp to study every camera angle and how the script work but oh well i don't even bother to check the clues in all 3 series and just read other opinion on it....my feel watching mostly on the chemistry of the character and never try to read between the line.though im glad i get it right from the beginning where i thought TK already like DS from his subtle smile when she want him to grow and marry him and he seem to purposely go take his milk every morning the perfect timing DS going to school but at same time afraid to post my opinion at the mt esp i thought it gonna be sw-ds-jh and no tk but so glad i still choose this ship♥

i might want to say im getting to 99% that Tk is the husband after reading everyone analysis and watching again with different view but there will always be 1% i can still be wrong depending on writer troll level (sound like when hyun 99% surr about min kidnapper but 1% he still missing the proof lol XD)

i actually want to watch producer but pretty much already know how it end when reading here so no mystery left for me when i decide to watch later XD oh well im cth fan the ending might make me happy

Interestingly, in episode 2 "The one thing you're mistaken about me", we saw various discrepancy between how characters are perceived by others and how it really is. For example: DS's dad and aunties' reaction when their brother finally arrived was completely different from when they were pushed to fit the roles as the responsible ones, the adult. When their oldest brother came, they lost it all and just be another side of them: younger siblings who just lost their mom. There are also other mirroring revelation, such as Bora who's normally immature suddenly stepped up to calm her siblings and took care of them in her own prickly ways. Another one, eating his mother's without complaint is SW's ways to maintain little illusion that will keep his mother happy. It's a small thing that he can take without any fuss, since revealing the truth to his mother would mean more harm than good. (Seriously, I believe he picked this understanding since very young from his interaction with his late dad, which added another layer of Father-Son complex within him)

The red thread for those scenes are the passage DS narrated:

"It's just adults keep it bottled up. They were just busy being adults, and they just acted strong due to the pressure that came with their age. Adults feel pain too." -- Grandmother funeral when eldest brother arrived.

"Even so, it's fine to be deluded sometimes. If you can make your mom happy by thinking her cooking is good, it's easy enough to eat tasteless lunches. There's no need to force harsh truth onto small bit of happiness. Sometimes you need an illusion to be happy. -- SW ate his lunch silently before entering the house.

Now as a closure of the episode, we have the scenes of DS's dad taking Taek as his drinking buddy. (Isn't it a bit unusual?) Maybe because he has mature aura, so that adult can feel at ease to converse with him? Then the next scenes revealed that behind all that facades, Taek is still a kid who missed his mom the most. He missed her everyday. When he said that, DS's dad looked a bit surprised. Also when TK walked back to his room, DS narrated

"An adult-like child is just one without complaint. It's just that they've acclimated to the world of adults and they've grown used to the illusion around them. An adult-like child is just that, a child. An illusion is short, but misunderstanding lasts a long time. That's why illusions offer freedom while misunderstanding chains you down."

I think Taek is forced to mature faster than other kids his age due to his constant exposure with the world of adult, traveling, deep understanding of baduk, and living his life only with his dad. However, deep down he's just a young boy who bears pain for losing his mother in a very young age. The only connecton to his youthful carefree side is via his friends. He does not have any other friends, he doesn't go to school, and kids his age at Baduk Club perceives him more as a teacher than a friend. Teacher and adult treats him with respect, further enhance the MISUNDERSTANDING. That's why he hang on this ILLUSION that he's incapable of anything else other than baduk to ensure that the others treat him the same and will not be awkward around him. Or maybe it's just too familiar, and Taek is too afraid to show the real him for fear of losing them, that the illusion started to become misunderstanding itself?

Btw I feel really really down. :'( I don't know, I feel like the percentage is now lowered down to 60%. I'm unsure and feeling uneasy. I keep telling myself that it's okay if Taek is not the one for DS. His character arc and development is enough of a gift for me. The more I learn about him, the more I empathize and wishing for his happiness.

@mangachickava thanks for your reply chingu-yah .. yeah I read those posts on the main but still--- I don't see the colors having that much importance to the hubby case, sawwrry XDD it's just that I don't think that even if there was color theory in r94, that necessarily there needs to be one in r88, lol. But then there are those dolls (green, yellow, blue right?) XD lol, I think I'm just gonna wait and see what's their case, if it's revealed ever anyway... As we know the reply series staff have been always such a trolls... You better not believe everything they're trying to make you believe, lol. Well, let's see what happens. Hands down, I still think that the husband is taek. I won't change my mind. I'm sure that JH&DS fans have a whole different opinion because they want the husband to be JH, they can have their opinion. Still, the fact is that JH/DS relationship is nothing compared what T/DS have.

Watching ep13, did I miss sumthing? First, where was DS when all commotion abt Taek being in the plane crash? Everyone was seen one way or another including BR & little JJ but where was DS? Was she the only one who's not aware of the panic surrounding their street? And of cos Taek himself didn't aware of it until he talked to SW. Also what happened to him? Its a good thing he wasnt in the unfortunate plane but why wasn't he on that plane? Or the news reporters really mess up his flight schedule?

Also I'm touch the souvenir he brought back for DS was his hard earned winner's championship's victory cup! He didn't even share it with his dad but gave it to clueless DS. His act here shows the degree of importance DS is in his heart/life. I think when he told SW before he'll die without DS he literally means he can't live without her. And seems true enuf after he cancelled their date, its his way giving her up he practically dies in his room as sleeps tru all day, not wanting to wake up until the day they're supposed to leave. 

As for DS, I love how clueless she was abt Taek's gift to her. She wud prefer key chain or towel than the cup which looks like a bowl! Luckily NE was quick enuf to connect the newspaper picture to the cup or else its gonna be the Sung's serving bowl!. Haha...what great abt it becos DS love Taek as he is...not because of his fame, status, money or anything special. To her Taek is a friend she genuine care & concerns abt. A childlike friend whom sometime surprised her with his maturity beyond their years. And she had the most shocks when in China to the extent that at times she didnt quite know how to act with him when in public but she stil understands him just to stay quietly by his side. It shock her to see Tk smoke but she didn't say anything & just accept it, and TK now comfortably tells her he's going for a smoke which was so unlike her reaction when she caught JH was reading a porn book. Thinking back deep in her heart she see Taek as a man while the rest are kids she grew up with. She seems to have more respect for Taek than the rest. She knock his door instead of barging in.

From what I see TK is slowly mould into the future husband while JH gets further away from the hubby style. Also his bickering & sarcastic remarks to DS is no longer cute nor amusing to me. Unlike 97 YJ-SW or 94 NJ-Trash bantering. In JH case he seems outright determined to put down DS which isn't funny to me. She already has inferiority complex as it is, she doesn't need JH negative criticism to belittle her already low self esteem. If JH loves her as he thinks he is he shud know this by now.

Yeah for the plane crash detail, I think the writer/PD purposely leaves out DS and JH. I can't remember exactly but I think DS went somewhere with Ja Hyun and JH went to the study room so yeah, we did't get to see DS and JH's reactions to that particular piece of news

Finally finished watching ep 15 & 16, and all I can say is - what's up with the squad undermining Taekie's ramyun making skills? You gotta let Taekie make the ramyun sometime! I mean he's always offering to do it but always gets pushed off.

Says something about how everybody keeps underestimating him. You know, I bet he's probably better at making ramyun than anybody else in the whole of Ssangmundong. The show's been ace at turning all Taekie related setups and expectations on their heads and I'd love to see a ramyun scene with everybody beside themselves drooling cause Taekie's ramyun is so damn bashda. Followed by some bleating goats, of course. Don't know why I'm so bugged by Taekie being banned from the kitchen lol, maybe I'm just hungry.

Next time we gather in Taekie's room for a party, I don't want pizzas or bananas, but some namja ramyun made by Taek.

In my delulu mind, I'm picturing DS just going crazy when she hears the news about the plane crash. It sort of reminds me of Reply 1994 when NJ and CB were supposed to meet at the mall or something and NJ thought he might've gotten hurt or died. I loved how she was so shocked to see him and was crying and hugging him yet he had no idea what was going on. In my delusions, I also see DS reacting similarly. How does she react to the news when she first hears of it? Then afterwards, how does she react when she finally gets to see TK in person after finding out that he's okay? Please, please give us these flashbacks!!
