@brielover thank you so much for appreciating the myth narrative......you set the ball rolling and I couldn't stop thinking about it Your point about the jade bracelet's role in dividing the mythical and enchanted story from the gritty history is unique in this context. Since I loathe to let go of the mythical aspect of the storyline I would just like to think of the bracelet and the person it represents as the pretty but inessential accessory that needs to be enjoyed and liked by Hae Su first in order to become aware of what inevitable love is and one which is required to be experienced by her, so that she can take steps towards directing her heart and mind and resolve to find that love, the one that Goryeo is also waiting for

@valsava unni, you are right....it would be a little disappointing if Hae Su doesn't pull herself together soon and is still portrayed as overly naive in the upcoming episodes.

Now this is not a critique of Hae Su as she is now from eps 1-9, because I like her too much, but two things that I wish from the drama....It is probably a little late for the first wish but anyway I would have liked it a lot if Su had gradually become aware of So's feelings for her when she had started living in the palace through her interactions with Baek Ah and Jimong and secondarily through her observations of his interactions with his brothers, mother and everyone else. What do I mean by this? The fact that the lonely and distrustful Wang So has opened up and emotionally evolved so much is there for all of us viewers to see but it is not so evident to Su, I believe. The fact that Wang So shared parts of himself with her, be it the naming of trees or the loss of his beloved tree in the Shinju incident or the advice he gives her on being alert in the palace or how she is lucky to have escaped harsh punishment when she treated Wang Mu, is an interaction dynamic that she perhaps takes quite lightly while to us it has far greater importance because we see the emotional evolution of Wang So in them. It would have been wonderful had there been sequences shown where Jimong could have told how So had threatened him to get info to change the king's mind from marriage, or Baek Ah could have informed her that all the little confidences that Wang So shared with her is not something he is used to doing with everybody, that could have clued her in to the fact that the dynamic she shares with Wang So is special and she is progressively becoming important to him. Then we wouldn't have to constantly convince ourselves that deep down Su knows/ feels that she truly loves Wang So and is not just seeing him as a person who needs help. It would also have made it more convincing when she realized her love for So after the poison incident, instead of the distinctly possibility that she falls for him only because of his tremendous sacrifice on her behalf. 

My second wish is that we get to see Su adapt to the specialised environment of the palace.. As @bebebisous33, @40somethingahjumma, @briseis and others have pointed out that she is maladjusted to the palace as of yet.....rose colored glasses may have won her the heart of the princes but that doesn't make her at all equipped to survive and fulfill her purpose in the seat of politics in Goryeo. Hopefully she uses her brains, some amount of observation and association and matures in the process to a) be true to her heart with regards to who she can absolutely trust and b.) become alert and aware of the intentions those around her.

@zi4r thanks a lot for the compliment and I am glad that my write up could give you a new perspective and some solace. Truth be told, I myself am a skeptic and cynic in most cases but on the other hand my emotions when engaged, I become a hopeful   In this case, the mythical storyline gives me an out from thinking about the tragic outcome of the original. If realization of true love and delivering Goryeo in the hands of its keeper be the ultimate goal of this alternate way of thinking then whether they get a happily ever after becomes unimportanat and saves me a lot of heartache

damn Yeonhwa is so unlikeable in the drama, but Kang Hana is so damn pretty in that bride attire. She also seems so nice IRL. Every time i try to hate her character i just end up losing focus on the plot and admiring her beauty and her refined way of speaking
