Seriously guys, 25+ new pages? This thread is on fire indeed!! I can't read all pages in one day, but now that I've caught up with two versions of episode 7, I want to chip in. Beware, wall of text!

Surprisingly...despite all the 'all talk no action' stints he pulled, I don't know why, I like Wang Wook here. I know it would be sweet nothings, but the way he talks to Hae Soo that he will get her back in her rightful place, to wait for him is just, so...reassuring and gentle. I like it. Although maybe it's mostly because Kang Haneul did a great job at portraying Wang Wook, ahahaha....also, the way I see it, Hae Soo's feelings towards Wang Wook might be just a result of 'rebound' (I don't know how to explain this better tbh), and still is. Broken-hearted from 21th century cheating boyfriend, she'd take anything that feels comfortable, and Wang Wook provides the exact comfort she needed. From day one, when she reaches for Wang Wook hand, she clings to that feeling. Well, one can argue that Baek Ah (13th) also gives her the comfortable feeling, but it's different from Wang Wook because she knows Wang Wook has feelings for her now. All the hide and seek hugging is cute too in my opinion, although I agree, this might cause trouble for Hae Soo (and possibly Wang Wook) in the end. Hae Soo will get the short end of the stick if they got caught, and I can see Hae Soo will doubt if her feeling towards Wang Wook is really 'love' in the future.

I also love how there's more of Crown Prince's scene, and it shows why he is reclusive (too gentle, as the general said). His illness made him do so. So far I didn't see the Crown Prince having the same reckless trait as oppose to the C-Ver, and I hope it will stay that way. Also, from the scene where Ji Mong applies the ointment, what if Ji Mong was there to make 1st Prince the King? I was suspecting he was there to make sure Wang So is the king, but his lines here : "I've told you clearly, Your Highness was born under the star of a King, why would I fool everyone in Goryeo?", when Crown Prince is doubting his position bothers me. It made sense though, if the theory if Ji Mong is a time traveler from the future is true. Hae Soo also got to interact with him in a natural way~ although yeah...Royal Concubine Oh prevents her to do more. I can relate to what Hae Soo said after that, "You need a good boss to recognize your talent in the workplace, but it's impossible in this place." . HAE SOO, I KNOW HOW THAT FEEL!!

Personally, I thought there should be more scene prior to Hae Soo preparing 10th birthday party. I mean I don't know that Hae Soo is requested by Crown Prince to prepare all of that decoration for 10th...I thought the he requested her for his own entertainment, ohohohooo...but overall, I love that scene! It made sense for the editor to add the puppet show scene in episode 6 if it leads to the birthday party scene.

Aaaaand don't we all love, love, loooove Wang So~~~ I think the way he unconsciously care for her (the flower park scene), the slow burn, the realization that he might have feelings for Hae Soo are just adorable. The scene where he stares affectionately at her singing and the pondering in pond before 13th dragged him how cute is that? But of course, Wang Yo the evil prince has to ruin everything...and 10th too, I know he should be the innocent and childish one, but I don't think he would be that dense to ignore the big issue of 'Wang So's scar'. I mean, what...? He lives in the palace, he must know about the meaning of a scar on a noble man's face. Why, oh why, 10th!? I'm okay with hating Wang Yo the 3rd, but I don't want to hate you!

Thus, we got our heart broken again by the pain in Wang So's eyes before he removes the mask...I swear Lee Junki's eyes and close ups are gold. The pain, the longing, the shivering and hitched breath at the end when he said, "Your eyes...that look in your eyes...I hate it like crazy." is just top notch. It was such a good scene...I love IU to bits, but IU...this scene...I think she should react more in this scene, not just wide-eyed staring at him. But who knows, maybe this wide-eyed stare would proceed to another emotion in next episode. Now, I'd like to think Hae Soo is still in shock when Wang So said that, the after-reaction would follow suit.

By the way...is it just me, but I always feel icky and uncomfortable when 9th Prince said something. Like, in episode 6, he said something along,"You have many brushes with death, you're lucky to be alive. Next time you might be dead." to Hae Soo and now in episode 7 he said "You're better than a gisaeng.", also to Hae Soo. I don't know...I might be reading into it too much, but it left a bitter taste to me. Also, there are mentions of 9th Prince is a really nasty character, maybe these sentences are the hints?

honestly, while i was watching the scene where 4th took his mask off, i thought some of the princes looked away because they respected So and didnt actually want to make him feel bad!!

I wish the drama didn't follow the history and made WS married his half sister, since it would be very difficult to process in my brain, even watching 3rd prince flirted with YH was already weird

I can't get over how happy i was to see so much of our WangSo looking so SMILEY (honestly, the number of times he smiled today) and SO DARN HAPPY around HaeSoo today. I was getting secondhand butterflies from his interactions with HS.

The emotions that LJK were emitting as WS were so REAL (although i'm very bias when it comes to LJK)  but i was so immersed in his scenes i could practically feel what he was feeling. Loved every part of his carefree interactions with HS at the beginning, to his sudden self realization that he probably liked her and his shy smiles at her afterward, and his hurt and humiliation at the end of the episode.

My favorite scene, simply because of how heartwretching it was to watch, was the part when WS took off his mask. It was the injured and hurt expression on his face as he took off his mask that made me want to cry for him and punch the 3rd and 10th(?) prince SO FREAKING MUCH. I swear i haven't felt this much anger watching a drama before.

Then that moment when his eyes met HS's and his expression shifted from anger to suddenly vulnerable, like he was being exposed from the inside because she knew exactly how he was feeling. That was just too OVERWHELMING. It felt like everyone was shocked and disgusted of his outward scar, but when he looked at HS, she wasn't seeing that outward scar. She was looking right INTO him, and she saw the internal scar he had buried in his heart for so long. She understood him and I think that's what drives him so freaking crazy when she just looks straight into his eyes, because he's never been so exposed before and he hates it. (but we all know he will secretly love her for it kekeke)

Episode 8 is next week. The special of Wednesday was basically the "history teacher" talking about Goryeo, and a recap from episode 1 to episode 7 in more than half and hour...only the scenes. No BTS. Nothing new.

The various locations of the beautiful scenes in this drama as named. Seems to me they went all over Korea for filming! Real tough I would say!

Btw, I found something interesting....This is the video I found of Ruoxi x 4th Prince from the Chinese drama 'Bubujingxin' which is the story Scarlet Heart Ryeo is based on ->

What is more interesting is the ending ! She goes back to the world she came from and finds the 4th prince there...Holy Moly! Like a re-incarnation....only thing is he does not know the whole thing that happened. Holy Moly.

I dont know if the Korean version will do a similar thing to this. What are your thoughts?

I try to research how do two people sit on one horse and very little infor came up. It is possible to put two saddles on a horse, like a bicycle for two to peddle but seeing how So is holding Soo and the escape was impromptu, they must have just a simple carpet over the horse and both ride on it. 

The horse has to be very large and tall to take the weight, so very likely for non expert riders, a step stool of somekind will be required for getting on the horse.

Suffice to say, even if a large adult horse is used, they will have to sit very close to ride together. refer specimen in next spoiler

In c-drama 4th prince (king at that time) finds about Ruoxi and 8th romance very late - like last episode or one before! I really hated that part. It has hurt 4th prince very much and was a direct reason he allowed the marriage between Ruoxi and 14th prince.

Unfortunately, there is nothing showing that WS knows/suspects about Soo and WW feelings. What do you think?

I would hate it if the director would do it the c-version way!!!!

 

 

I've never watched the C-version. But as for WS being aware of WW and HS feelings. He is not oblivious to it, he was present when WW recieved HS "poem." WS is no fool, he notices their interactions. I don't think for one second he believed WW was trying to stop HS marriage to the king just becuase she's his late wife's cousin. If he is unaware of it, I would be very much surprised.

A lot of people have been wondering what will cause HS to turn to WS and leave WW, as have I. But I believe she already has feelings for WS, that she isn't fully aware of, since her gaze always seems to follow him. Maybe she will have a moment of realization? Something like, "What I thought was love, was infatuation and attraction, and what I thought was simply concern and comfort is love.

So true, Once he saw himself laughing and smiling , he got so scared so  he left the party so he can be alone. Wang So really believes being alone is the best thing for him. I was so pissed off at Eun for looking away when he was the one who was dying for the gift . He did not have the stomach for it. Meanwhile Wang Yo, thought it was funny and knew his brother would show his little brother his scar because he is honorable.

It's not just you. He is a very shifty character. While he aided in the rescue attempt of Hae Soo, I couldn't help but feel he was a reluctant participant. Also those lines you quoted, he's very snarky towards Hae Soo and dare I say a little disdainful? That's his way of expressing it without being overtly malevolent.

Also in the c-version, 9th Prince used Ruoxi's maid to spy on her and 4th Prince. The maid was in love with 9th Prince and loyal to him only. We've seen a snippet of how Chae Myong (is that how you spell it?) and 9th Prince also have some connection here. After she was whipped they shared a significant look before 9th Prince hastily looked away.

In the c-version it also has to be said that 9th Prince held no love for Ruoxi. He couldn't understand how she would go to the gisaeng parlour and drink with 13th. He saw her as an immoral woman and this was especially so after she left 8th Prince. He couldn't understand that. He was a loyal supporter of 8th's from the beginning to the very end.
