About Sun Hae Im's new OST song - I never thought that any song could be more heartbreaking than Three Inches of Heaven - I WAS WRONG! SO TERRIBLY WRONG!!! Just by listening to it I get a sense of a heart shattering and lvoe ending and I fear for out OTP! It's definitely my favourite song together with the kiss scene unreleased OTS and Epik High ft.Lee Hi.

This episode has left me overwhelmed full of emotions.  I haven't been able to fully compose a decent thought straightaway because there was so much happening.  I felt so sad for HaeSoo who was waiting and waiting for her beloved to come to her but alas on that very rainy day she saw WangWook literally turn his back on her. Gut wrenching! 

I have to give it to IU on this episode.  She did very extremely well.  I felt her pain, exhaustion and desperation.  When she pleaded with the Oh Sanggong to leave with her, I could also feel her regret and desperation to save her.

I could not help but draw parallels with the relationships between the King and Oh Sanggong and Haesoo and Wangwook.  Today we saw both men failing to save the women they truly loved.  Both were helpless who decides to place more importance to their own family.  

Instead of wavering, I hope Wangwook will firmly keep that path which he has now taken.  I wish he will not be wishy washy with Haesoo and confuse her with any excuses of this weakness.  If he cannot have both his family and Haesoo then let Haesoo go.

I think HS took lady Oh's death really hard compared to how WW treated her. She was affraid she caused people's death, that's why she said she scared of WS previously. 

The actress who played lady Oh is superb. Thumbs up.

The crown prince should ascended to the throne next weeks so the the third prince can replace him and followed by WS. It seems HS will get released from the laundry unit after WS become King. But he need to  get married with YH in advanced .   Hhh the future looks so bleak.

I remember in the original when one of the concubine of 4th (after he became emperor) sent spy to the palace where 4th and RX resided. He caught the spy and ordered all his concubines and their subordinates to watch the spy getting punished. It's really scary. Well with YH cunning personality, she wouldn't stand aside with 4th so caring to HS. WS probably was going to be harsh like that to protect HS.

Yes Wook wants to protect his family. After seeing his mum begging Queen Yoo to not hurt her children he realises that he needs to step up his game and take the throne. Throughout the series so far I think it is very evident his weak spot is his family. Every time he hesitates is because his family is involved. 

The flaw with Wook is that he is so constantly questioning his own actions and unsure of what move to make resulting in the deteriorating state of the situation. Unlike So he is not as ambitious until it is too late. Yes So does not havens be anything to lose. He will do whatever it takes to get whatever he wants. Wook on the other hand has too many weaknesses and factors which can sway him. When he found out it was his sister who was involved with the tea poisoning he could not bring himself to tell anyone. Like Lady Oh said, in the end he didn't end up protecting anyone. If he had his sister's ambitious drive it would be a far different situation but he is far from capable because he holds too much burden in his mind. 

I am however still angry at him. Yes he has burdens and yes he has his own issues to deal with but him coming out to see Soo in the state she was in and turning away from her right in front of her eyes really destroyed all the love I had for his character. His actions have now damaged Soo's emotions as she believed so deeply that he would no change regardless of any events that unfolded. She realises she is wrong and the person who warned her of this is dead. She has to live on knowing this and for someone like Soo who is so kind-hearted and loving towards everyone it will have detrimental effects on her. If you hadn't appaeared her thought process of why he wasn't there ould have been different. 

What completely ticked me off was what he said in the trailer. He degraded her calling her a laundry maid and questioning So how he could marry someone of that status. It's fine he's turning his back on her because she has someone who actually really loves her. But it is not okay to look down on her. A lot of what has happened is balantantly his fault for not being able to take action. This is the girl he once loved and  wanted to marry how can he say that about her!? What has she ever done to you!?!

I just had to get that out. Cause it was really pissing me off. I do give him credit for finally realising what he has to do but his method of action I'm just full blown SMH. Yes I do not hold anymore love for Wook but I am interested to see his character turn dark. Will this mean he will finally take action before it's too late? Review will come tomorrow  Lots of love Eclipses!!!

But is true that Wook has too much to lose while So has little to lose, which makes the decision by Wook so much harder. Such an unfortunate character. 

He didn't plan to abandon her in the first place but when he decided to choose his family which I totally understand, he knows that he is abandoning her because he came to the conclusion to do nothing. He resented his decision but seeing his mother begging to the evil Queen SMS, I totally respect Wook's decision - he was brought up to be responsible and that's how he truly is. That is why I said, the only wrong thing he did was showing up during the rain only to let her down. Apart from that, I can't blame Wook for whatever he did. He is too sensible to lose everything over a girl. I would have done the same thing.

So trueee. He deserves the Daesang more than anybody else. The only reason I can think of SBS not giving that Daesang is because of low ratings domestically. But really, it should be based on an actor's superb acting performance. The man totally deserves it.

This weeks episodes were the strongest set in the entire series, and i think the definitive scene of the current arc is the poison tea scene (sorry lady Oh, no offence). 
I just want to say that watching this scene once is not enough, its so complexly layered you have to watch it a few times to fully understand each characters true intentions, and boy DID THE WRITER WRITE THE HELL OUT OF THIS SIMPLE POISON SCENE. 

yesterday i wrote about how Wang So tried to manoeuvre the hell out of drinking the poison, but resigned to fate finally due to Haesoo, it took me a while to uncover the different layers of meaning each action entailed, why it had to be 3 cups, why he had to leave the scene, why he was constantly looking at Hae Soo the whole time. 

today we get the second act of this scene where the writer finally unveils the true brilliance of Yeon Hwa as a character. some parts of the scene initially appeared odd to me, but after thinking about it, every single one of Yeonhwa's actions were calculated. 

1) she poured the tea from CP's teapot (i am not sure why there is still tea left because Hae soo left to get some more, and i am beginning to suspect the teapot that Yeonhwa poured from was not poisoned at all, although that would make JM's character super shady....). 

2)  she intentionally chose to drink from Wang so's cup (this is linked to point no. 5)

3) she pours the tea into her sleeves

4)  bites her lip to fake blood

5) when she collapsed, she mumbled that it was "Wang So's cup" for all to hear

In this case she:
1) removed herself from suspicion 

2) highlighted to the king the need for Wook to remarry

3) pissed off Queen Yo (it was a good show of bravado to demonstrate to the Queen she is not to be manipulated with)

4) got Hae Soo implicated 

5) destroyed the evidence (i think she intentionally crashes the CP's teapot, maybe in case they find out there is no poison in that teapot?)

6) saved Wang So, the last words she muttered help to send help to Wang So while he was dying. I got a feeling she felt bad for him and wanted to do something immediately to help. 

So in the end she killed a flock of birds without even throwing a stone. 

Unfortunately, and this may not be a popular opinion, I felt that this arch has fully illustrated to the viewers that the 2 smartest people in the palace are WS and YH plus YH is the perfect queen for WS. This is the SHIP that the official narrative wants us to support (it is what happens according to history anyway). 

Although they throw us with a lot of misleading curveballs like the hair pin, the scar make up scene etc, and while many of us (me included) might be impatient regarding why the OTP's ship still hasn't sailed (i guess there is some time lapse in the next episode, WS and HS are separated after sharing such intimate moments, Wang So is sent to battle etc, and their ship ultimately lost its fuel i guess).  

As i mentioned before, the title of Moon Lovers is wholly misleading, the drama is not about lovey dovey relationships, it was never really about WW & HS or WS & HS. HS is just an innocent, INDEPENDENT bystander from another time witnessing a battle of wits between historical characters in the Goryeo palace, and if it is similar to the C version, this is how the drama will develop and this is how it would end.

Usually I have a lot to say...but...I can't even think right now!!! I'm so overwhelmed by tonight's episode, and I also can't stop listening to the beautiful and moving OST that I have been eagerly waiting for. I feel so emotional!!! I admire everyone that's making lengthy posts and dissecting the drama, because right now, my brain is totally short circuited!

I want to watch ep.11 so badly, but I don't want to cry buckets. Not tonight, as I have to be meeting people tmrw morning.... What to do? Ottokeee?? Even just reading the recaps and screencaps you all shared, I already feel like crying. I think I really have to put off watching ep.11 even though I've successfully downloaded it. What should I say. After the King in the love in the moonlight, here I found the second stupid and powerless king.
Come to think of it, Taejo in this drama is so useless.

First, he is afraid of all the clans, and to make himself strong, he just married here and there, creating so many children, but not loving any of them.

Second, he is conquered by Queen Yo. It was obvious and there was evidence that Queen Yo was the one who order the assassination of the crown prince Mo at the beginning, but the King did nothing. Who said it is all about evidence? Where's the evidence that Lady Oh is the one who plot the poisoning, besides her confession, they got nothing on her, and yet the King still let her die. So useless.

Third, his whole reasoning that he could abandon whoever he wants because he is the king, he is the one that will be abandoned later. I would find no remorse even if he gets killed later on in the story.

History lesson:

"Wang Mo will rule for 2 years after Taejo, he is quite a nice person, if I read the story, he knew about the plot to dethrone him by Wang Yo and Wang So (Wang Gyu also, whoever that is), and do nothing about it, he is too good to be a king. Wang Mo never wants to be a king in the first place anyway. He will later die because of disease.

Wang Yo will rule for 4 years, he will die also because of disease.

Come to think of it, disease is really a prominent weapon to dethrone a king.

Wang So will rule for 26 years, a year longer than Taejo's ruling time."

My question is,

Since this is fiction, how much it will divert from history. We already had a fictional character here, Hae Soo and her time slip. Will Hae Soo be seen as wife of Wang So after he becomes a king? Or will she die first? Well, then you can claim that Wang So becomes ruthless after losing Hae Soo, LOL My imagination is running wild, with so many possibilities.

I know the death of Lady Oh is essential for the story development, but still, I hate you writer-nim for this. I miss Lady Oh already. I guess the saying "good people die fast" has been proven from long time ago. First, Myung Hee and now Lady Oh. Who's next? and Who will be left? I guess what lady Oh said will come true, Queen Yo will live a very long time and die lonely since she's the most evil of all.
