Now based on last night ep we can tentatively predict BR will eventually end up with SW since his crush wasnt as shallow as we first thought, tho I still think he's a moron for using DS to get close to BR, but yeah he's pretty much will end up with her seeing how they seem to be a comfort to each other at their lowest time.

I think same goes to JH since they've been portraying him as the kind, caring cool guy underneath his blunt indifferent exterior, knight in shining armour style, who bickers with the heroine all the way yet protect her with his life..so basically 90% confirmed he's the husband tho physically he doesn't look much like the older version...well at least they don't shrink & wrinkled him...

 However I still reserved 10% becos of this promo pictures

Now if we based on the above article, well in most article if you google R88, we'll see the pic &  description of these 4 will come out. Or at least 3 of them, HR, GKP & PBG...isnt this kind of misleading? Can they use these 3 to hype up the drama becos of their popularity aka HR from kpop popular girl group, GKP & PBG rising popularity tru NC, W&C ?..I can understand they include in RHY becos she's indeed the 2nd lead & the sister of the main actress. Now as the story goes we see higher chance SW will end up with BR who wasnt even the lead actress, so its clear why they keep putting GKP pic next to RHY since they are most probably the 2nd otp but having PGB instead of RJY next to HR which imply the main otp isnt it kinda deceiving? Especially if PBG has less screen time that RJY?  Wont they get sued becos of it? For using PBG's name & popularity to hype up the show & enthusiastic fans? Since we know though RJY acted in many films (not leading role, tho) RJY wasnt exactly a household name. Not many fans heard of him prior to R88

Also I wonder if Taek's character is based on the real life baduk player, are they going to based his life on the real one too? Can they do that?

Whatever it is, becos of the pic & article like the above i reserved another 10% chance Taek will be the husband. If so its interesting to see how they unfold & slowly changing his character from a naive teenager to a regular full grown man. The fact that he's bolder & has more guts than JH for asking DS out, probably give us a glimpse of Taek we haven't seen yet. One thing for sure although he's tired & exhausted from his Baduk tournament he still make an effort to spend time with DS, even if he eventually fell asleep on her shoulder.

P/s ...come to think abt it, Taek isnt really naive/innocent...they watch & read porn in his room all the time remember...i bet he join them whenever he's around

I can't make myself to enjoy the series anymore...tried to watch last week episodes with sub but i feel like time moves so slow that i can't even finish episode 5..i know there's so much more in the drama rather than the loveline alone..maybe i expect to much tho the production have said before this installment will focus more on the families/neighborhood i still love the friendship of the 5 friends..the parents couple..the cutie jinjoo but its hard to even finish an episode now haha did you guys saw last nite episode when the 4 guys spent the night together again..and DR again have his fart party? Lol i mean it's gross but its funny haha

@nearsea i understand what you said on future noeul tho haha he's shorter compared to 88's noeul even! I mean i know noeul was known as looking older than his own age but they can always have 88's noeul to act out as current noeul to me..lots of people look older in their teen days but aged gracefully..same thing as Trash in R94..in 2013 they playfully making fun of trash saying he looks older than his own age 20 yrs ago but now (in 2013) he looks young

@skeletonworks I see what you mean now.Missed that scene on live watch of bora comforting sun woo on his father's death.I guess this is it.Strangely I don't see any point holding on to this imaginary couple anymore.The drama in the process gave me the much needed apathy lol.I would simply skip the scenes of sun woo from now on.Also,the one directional way is quite clear now..=/.

@kaykafisyah Yeah the last few minutes were awkward =|.I dint see the point of showing the brotherly love from deok sun's part.It seemed really weird to me.But they took the looking old part quite seriously nope? Lol and what's with wearing hoods and all.I just thought they made a caricature out of noeul.He was not that bad come on..=/.

I also felt the drama was slow at times.The ahjumma talks sometimes get dragging and repetitive.Maybe they should show the friends in outside too,most of the time they are indoor.Either spending night together or watching some music show.Did the outdoor never exist in '88? Lol.Only one that gets to do that is taek.And that is also all about baduk and the flash around the game.Which gets quite strainful at times. 

I have been to the main thread and I don't get the sudden mention of  the shipping and all.Someone even made a comment about how some people are caving to their shipping thread and it's apparently unfair.I don't get the sudden bashing.Because this would happen on the main thread I refrained from commenting up there.But why we have to listen to these comments because we have our own thread? And honestly this is way beyond shipping.And it's not some cheesy space where we're ogling over any idol or something lol.Anyway sorry for the rant.I just find it strange that why would you even bother disturbing the peace lol when we're trying to maintain it in the first place.

Anyway though I make my exit from the fandom or shipperdom should I say...one great find have to be hyeri among all the husband craze.Though everyone is gaga over rjy and his apparently ugly prettiness...I loved hyeri and her interpretation of deok sun,I wish to see her in more dramas..

@lxands Absolutely never trust this placement photos..When the drama news came on picture,everyone sed park bo gum is gonna be the lead..Also I remember Han Groo was in running for the female lead role,but that dint happen.So different sites stated different conjectures,while according to some,bo gum was the lead,while other also mentioned the ambiguity of the production team regarding who's who.And as @skeletonworks said maybe because rjy is a newbie,they did not promote him much,as it could disclose the identity of the husband.No matter how much they blabber about family and relationship blah blahs..the husband guessing is the main appeal of this series..believe it or not.I also remember how exo's d.o and another idol were in the casting news,but that dint happen either.So the hype may have to do with the actors themselves,not the drama.Anyway I'm 'NEVER' going to look up this series again before they start.This is the only time I have done it and also failed miserably lol.I had a very good lesson learned.

I also don't like how they're shaping up taek's character.It;s like they never develop any character fully unless they are the 'leads'.DR  is not given much highlights either.Maybe they could start making the drama a bit more 'compact'.Till now it's like so many stories in one episode,and I feel like we're watching table tennis balls going ping pong from one court to another =/.

@nearsea agree with you on how the supporting characters are less develop..i would say DR supporting since he gets lesser screen time compared to others..in fact i would call everyone besides JH, his family DS, her family..as a supporting characters..we got some back story on SW..on the episodes when his 2 grandmothers came but that's it..only an episode and it was shared with other mothers as well (i remember an article "what are we gonna do without our mothers on that episode thus i said it was shared with other mothers..because in that episode also was when JH mom left the house for awhile and DS mom was restless because of BR)

Just ignore those in the main thread..we are happy tho our ship is sinking deep they should just be glad with their own sailing ship why bother us? Worry much about our sinking ship? Lol

An info on kim joohyuk (the actor who plays current husband) he's lefthanded...among the boys..only Taek is lefthanded..im not sure if that's important tho..i never knew that watching a drama can make you feel so down like this haha what have shin pd do to me? If there is ever reply series again in future...ill wait till it finish then ill watch..at least i know who is the husband already..

I almost forgot every single scene Taeyang was in..but the video brought back the 3 weeks memories! Especially the casset and candy DS gave to SW at the study room...im wondering if SW is that fool not to realise who actually gave it to him..or in future will they bring back the story of DS SW..not to bring them together but to just letting SW know that DS was once liked him..for now..DS has completely giving up on him..see..she's no longer act shy and cute in front of SW..she can even dance the silly dance with SW there..

@kaykafisyah Is Bogummy left-handed in real life? Is Taek really left-handed? I mean I saw him using chopsticks with his left hand but he plays baduk with his right hand. I wonder if it's a rule to play with right hand? I thought he's right handed but used his left hand to eat because he doesn't want to burden his right hand that is used to play baduk (if that makes any sense at all haha). Because when he's using the chopstick, he seems like he cannot use it properly and DR helped him with that. Or maybe because like they all said, he's pretty useless apart from baduk.

hi all. finished the latest eps. and it seems like, as all of you have mentioned, SW-BR is gonna be casted in stone. *sad*. actually it was kinda of sickening to see SW trying to break BR wall in ep7 and i was seriously thinking if BR really do have a BF. with ep8, BR now single and SW swooping down like hero to heal her broken heart, *sian and sad* gonna just skipppp their parts.

i must say i was totally melting when Taek met DS on the bench/table to tell her he forgot (ep7) abt the secret santa thing. the way he looked at her and smile. wow!!! he is such a adorable dork and i love him. setting the hubby business aside, i do hope they develop Taek character else super insulting to get PGB act as wallpaper. DR got more "meat" as a character than Taek. and Taek is supposedly one of the mains.

to me R88 is now really like a family drama, ep7 abt Taek and ep8 abt JB heart condition. kinda of feel that the hubby business is on a back burner while PD tries to lay the background of each family.

first PD throw SW and JH together and now with SW out, Taek is now in the mix. kinda of frustrating cos like all these is to drum up JH. *sorry if i offend anyone*

I still believe PD Shin has some surprise in store for us. I don't believe he let us find the husband so straight forward.  If he intend to do so then he might just as well revealed his name from the beginning. 

Also I remember the writer & director are kind of mischief & they love giving misleading clues. Like the one in R94, they keep repeating the groom is very famous.  The famous one is Chilbong but it turn out that  Trash was captured on live tv while doing some emergency treatment for some baseball player or sumthing *roll-eyes*

In R97 YYJ is a top student & a respected attorney but he's just an idiot when with Shiwon

So my point is during the first introduction,  old DS said her husband used to be smart,  not necessarily referring to JH &SW but cud also referring to Taek, the genius baduk player, even if DS thought he's king of idiot at the time, or DR, their block's counsellor/advisor. 

Abt left handed, I'm left handed too. Yes I used chopstick with my left hand but if using fork & spoon I use the right away.... I also hold knife & needles with my right hand. Otherwise doing & holding stuff subconsciously I'll use my left hand. Reason is for using right hand when doing certain things is because practice.  Like for me holding knive & needle was taught by my mom who's right handed, so she used to hold my hand over hers so naturally I used right hand too.. so in Taek case his trainer probably was right handed too, also he use right hand to play baduk so his opponent won't see weakness, or probably its more respectful,  just like hand shake or giving/taking stuff from other party with a right hand.

And dont worry abt the main thread, it feels more of a Jh-ds shipping thread than a drama thread..they have sumone swoon over JH in every other post. And here is a shipping thread & we also talk abt the drama beside just shipping.  I prefer it here since I can talk abt the shipping or other characters  freely. I cud even criticise any characters without worrying being attacked by anyone here, except that some unknown stranger who came here bombarding us just because we're not crazy abt their shipping

I don't think there's error in media reporting the first & 2nd male leads between GKP & PBG.. the clip above was a promotional interviews which was aired a day or so before the drama begin its airing. Thus they already start filming, so surely the characters are already decided on their importance/leading role. Still, they were seated in order Taek, DS, SW, JH, DR, BR, NE , Friend 2...why not DS sits between JH &Taek or SW? Or if they were just randomly seated why not put DR next to the mc? Why did they still arrange the 3 actors & actress they announced as R88 leads in order?

@lxands The sitting position of taek is a bit misplaced but if you see hyeri,ggp and rjy's seating position ,it's almost the same as how the sequence of the love lines develop.I see it this way that,first it was sun woo that deok sun fell for,hence ggp comes first/is in the position next to her.And then comes jh,so jh is the second one to sit beside her after ggp.I feel like they've maintained it relationship wise =/.

Anyway I do really hope that shin pd is gonna surprise us with something in the upcoming episodes.Because right now everything seems to be quite sorted out.I'd be happy to see anything other than the conventional route they took for now.Even DR would do  as a husband.I had my share of couples who bicker from kdramas.This is getting really old.Why can't they do something innovative and not just run the same formula again and again.I understand this series is becoming a cult,and quirks are supposed to be a 'thing' here,but it does not even appear eccentric to me because we've seen it before? If anything they can just fast forward the time and make jin joo hook up with taek.Huh.

@kaykafisyah I totally agree with you that apart from jh,all of them are supporting character lol.Heck even deok sun is shown from jh's perspective,and it just frustrates me to see the female lead so limiting in dynamics.It's past 8 episodes right.Damn,and we still don't know much about her.I hope she does not just stay there as the love of life of jh,and not gets to show her mindset,and thoughts she has regarding her surrounding and all.

@kaykafisyah During making this vid, I realized that all SW&DS moments are beautiful and peaceful. Somehow they make me feel peaceful and oddly sad, maybe because love (SW to DS) has not started yet. It's beautiful in spite of being so sad, isn't it? We can see the sparkle in DS's eyes, sun shine in her eyes when she loos at SW and thinks of him.

TBH, I starting to like JH's character too as individual & I even feel he's cute with DS. My problems is, for the heroine to end up with a guy she's closest with or lives closest to and started off as bickering couple is too rusty & weary for me especially for Reply series. If they want to make a simple love line & focus more on other aspect why do they still used the over worn concept why not just used a sweet & simple style. A couple doesn't have to yell at each other, be at each other's throat or put down/criticized one another to fall in love. If I want to watch bickering couple I might as well watch the previous reply series.

Its too predictable, that the most rough in the group will get the girl....so lame.

Also when I watch the 2015 scenes, no matter how many times I watched, even now when I've accepted JH as the husband, something doesn't quite click with the older version. Not just physical appearance but character wise too. The older one seems a little too calm for JH. Young JH is indifferent, blunt & wud snap DS's head off almost every time he opens his mouth though he's protective of her & discreetly take care of her. The older version is more calm & his talking tone is much gentler  than young JH, even if he raise his voice a bit from time to time. Older DS pretty much the same as the younger DS. Sum thing doesn't seem right.

I also wonder if hubby walk off to have a smoke is somewhat a hint or significant in husband characteristics. In 1988 we know SW & JH didn't smoke but we didn't know if Taek or DR did. Even we can argue the guys all smoke once they went to college they made the cigarette scene a big deal as if to tell us something. We know SW's mom is completely against SW smoking, thus I don't think he wud risk making his mom upset. JH tho seems like he doesn't care abt anything is actually quite obedient & wudnt do anything to worry his mom. DR is the one whos daring & break the rules every time. As for Taek being raised only by a dad, I don't it would bother his dad much weather he smoke or not. After all he mingled with older men since young, smoking among them weren't such a big deal.

Then again the chocolate thingy again. Why didn't old JH know who she gave the chocolate to when young JH fully aware of DS's feeling for SW back in 88? If he's JH then he knew abt her crush first hand not from her diary, so surely he wud know who she gave it to....at least he would have guess & not repeatedly ask her who's the guy & then getting jealous & irritated.

If Taek is the husband is the husband, then his seating is very well place...hubby Taek, wifey DS, DS's first love, DS's secret lover, DS's best buddy, DS's sister, DS's brother,  DS's bestie & if JB was present, DS's neighbour ....So I think the sequence was in order if only Taek is the husband
