Recommended Posts

Competition is fierce out there in the K-pop world today! There are so many rookies trying to debut that most people resort to other tactics to ensure they get the spotlight. For girls, that often means a super sexy concept. For guys, it often means showing your abs during some amazing choreography. We all know groups […]

I'd say U-Kiss should be on here as well. I know internationally they are better known but for a group that debuted in 2008 and I think they have only won 1 number 1 award on Korean music shows I think that makes them pretty underrated given how long they have been around.
I loved History's recent comeback too it had a really intriguing vibe to it.

I pretty much agree on this list, but there are also a lot more kpop boy bands that should be listed too. There should be another article on this, but for kpop girl bands ( I vote for After School/Orange Caramel, and SPICA - talented but very underrated).

Great list. All these groups deserve more attention. In my opinion, History even more. This last album 'Beyond the History' was mostly composed by Yijeong, he's really talented. Actually, their last 3 albums were all masterpieces, very well produced. The lyrics are great, the harmonies are great... I don't know what else to say, they're one of my favorite groups.
UNIQ, well, I love them. But I don't think their agency is actually doing a good job promoting them. They need a better concept. Even tho I thought that after EOEO things would be different.
And MADTOWN, impossible to not fall in love with them. I'm really antecipating their comeback. Hopefully Jtune will promote them more this time. But they're great, geez.
I've never listened to 5URPRISE, but based on this list I'm totally going to.

I love all the groups listed!!!! BIG STAR can not be viewed in the US anymore, YOUTUBERED has blocked Brave Entertainment channel. Also these groups including B.A.P., B.T.S., B1A4, Block B, B2ST, Boys Republic, Big Star, so many more here listed and not listed need so much love. International fans love K-pop, and well You Tube removing a lot of these channels, I hope 1theK stays on You Tube. I own every one of these albums mentioned, and hope that someone, one day, creates an International channel, where we can view or K Artists, that would make millions of dollars right now. The US is big on K-pop right now, and I don not listen to American music at all. Only Korean. LOVE TO ALL UNDERRATED GROUPS!!!!!!!!!! INTERNATIONAL LOVE!!!!!!!

Great list! I'm a big fan of Royal Pirates and BigStar so really happy to see them here! I was thinking of RP the other day, they haven't promoted anything in Korea for over a year right? (I didn't know about their Japanese & Taiwanese releases, I'll have to check those out.) BigStar I was worried might never make a comeback, I think their last single was "Standing Alone" in Dec. 2013? That's what introduced me to them and made me a fan. Really happy they're back and promoting again. :)

I've heard/listened to the other groups on the list but need to catch up on their latest releases, especially curious to check out History and Boys Republic. Reading about their charitable good deeds (knitting hats for the needy! that is so sweet!) really makes me want to learn more about them. :)

I would have added C-Clown to this list but they just disbanded a few weeks ago. *sob!* I really liked their sound, especially their early stuff like "Solo" "Young Love Far Away" and "Good Night".

Another group I've been curious about--A-PEACE! with their whopping 21 members, lol! What's the latest with them? I know they were promoting in Japan for several years, but I don't know if they're still active or whatever. There are several videos to "Lover Boy" they're all good. :) First time they walked out, I thought they were dancing mirrored--it took me a while to realize those were all the members, lol! :D

Funnily enough, I was watching a YouTube video a few days ago about Underrated Boybands in the K-Pop scene and ended up downloading songs by Able, T-Max (now disbanded) and N-Sonic as a result. Out of your list the only groups who are my cup of tea are Royal PIrates and Boys Republic, but I applaud the author for putting together such a diverse list. I was lucky enough to attend Boys Republic's London concert in July and their sheer talent left my Mum and I speechless! Definitely one to watch.

D'oh! I just realised that I forgot to mention that I feel LC9 should have been on this list. Their first mini album was awesome, as was the Single East Of Eden released last summer. The last I heard their leader was in the army, but by my calculations should be discharged soon. Does anyone know if the group have disbanded or if they will make a comeback soon? I feel sad at the lack of news on the LC9 front and hope someone can shed some light on what they're doing nowadays.
