obbor4
I'd love to see Park Sun Young as the lead in anything, but why must these historical dramas always end in death and tragedy. Didn't anything good ever happen in those days?

kalel
I'd love to see Park Sun Young as the lead in anything, but why must these historical dramas always end in death and tragedy. Didn't anything good ever happen in those days? With contemporary standards, I seriously doubt it. There were no drugs against diseases (hence low survival rate), infant mortality rate was extremely high, wars, slavery and other jolly things. Life was cheap and, at the same time, too difficult. That's why romance is beautiful in historical dramas,- it mostly works as a distraction for the viewers and frankly, that's why I like it, too... Guest p.j.douglas
Agree with other posters that the endings of historical Kdramas rip our hearts out but SIK is great. Several John Ford and/or John Wayne films are based on history but the screenwriters knew how to write to avoid total audience misery. "The Alamo" is a case in point.
