The concept of HYD and this drama is similar.. humble girl in school for riches and the male lead, who is the prominent student in the school falls in love with her and they are in love triangle with the male lead best friend.

But I still enjoy this drama despite that and more I am drawn to watch for that reason. I always love HYD and any remake or reboot (or whatever they call it) is always welcomed..

Above all, Liu Bing is bae. He is good looking. Like swoon-worthy type. I smiled like an idiot every time he is on the screen.

How can I handle this?

This guy really took me by surprise. Sure thing he needs to improve his acting but he is still young so  I am looking forward to it.

1. Strong chemistry ✅

2.He can act pretty accurately arrogant but honestly nice character which is rare to see in drama✅

3. He has genuine smile unfortunately it is off screen for now ^^ ✅

Probably the only one on this but I'm feeling sorry for Sha Sha. Tho I guess it is more pity than anything else. I can't seem to hate her character 100% as I feel that in some ways I can understand why she's so misguided and spoiled.

Same here she is not annoying one but pitiful one actually we all know that when she plays petty tricks and end up being hurt herself it is because she is so desperate. Since she grew up dreaming about someday she will be married with Liu Bing I don't think it is easy to let it go. though the more she try the more I pity her. But I can't say same thing for her father. At that age and with that power what the heck is he trying?

Ehh 2nd main actress is needed in order for the drama to continue. No worries! lol.
She lacks emotional support from her family hence her state of mind.

It only gets better and more sweet as each episode is shown for our OTP.   Liu Bing has his own unique gruff around about way of doing things, and Jian Che is so on to him, Jian Che knows exactly what Liu Bing is thinking and how he will react to situations.

Sorry forgot who mentioned that they felt sorry for Sha Sha, I don't feel sorry for her, she is intelligent enough to know that what she is doing is self destructive, she is hurting herself yet blaming Xiao Xi  for Liu Bing not returning her love and affection....

Hao Xue grew up with all of them same as Sha Sha and they both have crushes on the boys, but both Liu Bing and Jian Che have no interest in either Sha Sha or Hao Xue.  Hao Xue in her own way is trying to warn off Xiao Xi away from Jian Che, not good !

Both Liu Bing and Jian Che are not stupid and they can read peoples emotion, and think further than the moment calls for, they both do not feel anything for these two girls other than they are friends and the loyalty the feel that they owe these girls are of sibling affection nothing more.

I like Hao Xue, but she is too blinkered by her long time crush of Jian Che, they may end up together, but in the mean time her constant butting in and taking over the situation between Xiao Xi and Jian Che only makes her look desperate.

Xiao Xi slowly discovering her heart, and exactly which of the two guys really has captured it.  I can only say that each time Jian Che looks at Xiao Xi, he confuses her (he confuses me too).  she is not immune to all his intense staring!

Episode 14 is the best for getting results.  I wish I could say more but it'll spoil things for all.

By the way miss Ninja @ Ninja Reflection.com has recaps of latest episodes.

Off topic but to tie everyone over Korean short drama 'Noble, my Love' is a sweet fluffy watch too.

A first, I am watching a T-drama... moreover, the K-drama BOF is definitely not my favourite, I had to skip some episodes. But I feel this version is totally different. The heroine is a strong and independant woman... and Lui Bin is not the arrogant person like in BOF. He is totally different: sure he is acting cold and distant but this has nothing to do with arrogance. Another thing: I was really surprised that a T-drama would show a woman and a man sharing the same room... something you wouldn't really see in a k-drama! I really liked it how LB moved in! This is totally different from the others.

I have just finished watching the episode 15 RAW and it is really interesting because this time, LB really shows for the first time his love for Xiao Xi in public. The next episode will be even better... kiss!

I am glad that I am meeting some chingus from other friends, like @UnniSarah or @fatma_1 or @thunderman1!

Ok, so I kind of accidentally stumbled onto this show and watched the first episode. I was laughing so much, and before I knew it, I was hooked.... Fast forward two days and 10 episodes...

@bebebisous33 (Hi again! I think we might have similar taste in dramas, we almost always seem to meet in the same threads. :) ) Anyway, like you, I also like that the female lead is such a headstrong, independent and honest kind of girl. It's such a breath of fresh air to see a heroine that really knows her kung-fu and doesn't let anyone walk over her. From time to time, I tend to get so tired of the candy-type characters always seen in Korean dramas. I'm just loving Xiao Xi's spunk!

Yes, I feel that Taiwanese dramas give a more "realistic" portrayal of modern society where men and women can sleep together and move in together before marriage. Even Japanese dramas are more liberal than k-dramas.

Anyway, I'm loving the fact that Lui Bing is starting to fall for Xiao Xi. Jealousy is such a dead give-away that he has feelings for her... Has anyone read the novel? I've understood it hasn't been translated to English? If you don't like spoilers, please don't click on the spoiler tag below.

I read on a blog that this drama has a surprising ending. Anyone know what that's about? The blog did give a clue to the ending, but I'm not sure if I believe it.

@partyon To me, LB had fallen for her from the start... but first, he didn't realise it and later he was in denial! Moreover, he tried to hide those feelings from her and from Che as well. He was avoiding to answer Che's questions. There were here and there clues that he loved: when Che asked him about moving in, he replied that he was serious!

Welcome aboard!! it is not an active board but not entirely dead board  so I check back every now and then.

I also skipped some BOF episodes because of the same old plots. This adaptation is unique in ways that I would also reiterate what you mentioned above. The main actress is not as weak and has some sense in fighting and standing up for herself.

Goes to show that men and women can share one room and not do anything inappropriate. hehehee. That is, you will have to rewatch to see that the main lead tries to control himself by containing himself in the living room inside of cohabiting in one room with main actress. lol

I believe ep 17 is not being shown? This drama is definitely eye captivating and so funny! I laugh at least once in each episode.

@thunderman1 Thanks for the welcome!!:wub:

So far, the episode 16 is not on viki!;) So, I didn't see LB leaving the bedroom because he couldn't control himself. The time he slept on the couch was because he was mad at Xiao Xi. However, there are many jokes about sex like f. ex.

- She broke the bed!!:D

- My body is so sour!:D

I have never seen such jokes on K-dramas, especially from public channels like SBS, MBC.

I used Maplestage because I understand Chinesee! Just type in "Moon River ep 16--maple stage" and that should do it.

You're so naughty, chingu! kekekeee

That is what I like about Chinese/Taiwanese dramas. Personally, I got started with K-dramas because I started running out of things to watch with the Chinese channels. If you want, message me and I will give you light-hearted, comic relief chinese dramas with lots of lovey dovey scenes. :)  There are some over dramatic dramas as well.
