The recent plagiarism controversy surrounding Yoon Eun Hye’s fashion designs — yes, designs, plural — doesn’t look like it’s going to let up anytime soon. Previously, following an episode of the Chinese fashion design survival program “Goddess’ Fashion,” Yoon Eun Hye was called out by Korean designer Yoon Choon Ho, who expressed deep offense and […]

COME ON THAT'S TOTALY DIFFERENT !!!!!!! IT'S INSPIRATION WTF

The BCGB comparison is a little too close to call it "inspiration" or "trend" while the other 3 are different enough to call them inspiration.

Has she created anything that is truly original? I ask this because I'm on the other side of the world and completely unfamiliar with her designs. Is there a website that shows all or most of her design work?

She's not a designer...she's an actor who is paired with.....I'm assuming a rookie designer in a program similar to Project Runway. The designer paired with her apparently has no say whatsoever in what's going to be shown.

Tsk tsk tsk. The other shoe designer wants to bring this up now after how many years? Unbelievable. Sounds like jumping onto to bandwagon

Why? She's just stating YEH has a habit of giving herself credit for somebody else's work. The clucking should probably be directed towards Eun Hye.

Please go check out the designer's latest tweet. She said the reporters twisted her words and she apologies again and again for adding fuel.

Thank you for the clarification! I knew she was an actor/singer/model but I assumed she was aspiring to fashion design ... ala Victoria Beckham and others.

I should check out "Goddess Fashion" and hopefully there are English subtitles. Project Runway is a fave of mine, in fact the only reality show I watch on a regular basis. (well, I should come clean and confess a guilty pleasure ...Dance Moms (hiding face under paper bag).)

Thanks, I'll pass.  Good to know her words were taken out of context. The media seems to be playing this up and that makes me suspicious.

The designs were similar so I think it's plagiarism. Kinda disappointed cause I'm a fun of her. But I admit that her versions are better than the original.
And let's forget about the shoes.

Definitely not the goong shoes. In fact, hers werr way more impressive. But everything else looks too much inspired. The wings things looks copied and so does that black and white dress.

Well --- not to beat a dead horse (sorry, lame, but I couldn't resist!) I read another article which was her response to plagiarizing the frilly sleeves. She quoted 2008 Viktor and Rolf s/s and 2014 Lanvin s/s and I just checked them out thanks to Vogue.com's new "Runway" archival and I couldn't see the inspiration. However, as someone who enjoys the creative process herself, I know how inspiration can morph into all sorts outcomes so who knows. *shrug*

Borrowing one particular design element from another designer is how a trend starts and doesn't constitute plagiarism. Her coat is different enough from YCH's ... ummm, coat??? ... anyhow, the two pieces are different enough. But borrowing several design elements and making one piece very similar such as the BCBG dress, that's another story.

On a side note: New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2016 starts tomorrow!!! :w00t:

Too untrue

Here are the whole designs made by Yoon Choon Ho then by Yoon Eun Hye, compare and you will see how he manipulated his pictures posted on SNS. Look at them in full.

Lanvin dress with frills, 2012-2013 F/W collection
Now, you can judge and consider how people and media can sometimes do stars harm with their inconsistency!
Nonsensical

Based on the above picture of the white coats/sweater, they do look similar. The other stuff is just reaching except for the black and white dress. To be fair, the black and white dress design isn't that uncommon. Just wanted to add that I think the dress with the childish drawings is adorable.

all the cloths look like inspiration and not copied..thats what change is about..even if just one part is different then everything else is..there's only so many new original designs out there. this is 2015, IDEAS are hard to develope

THE TRUTH BE SAID.

See the pictures shown below.

Credit goes to @Avidneri

In my own opinion, THIS IS NOT EXACTLY THE SAME DESIGN.
Both use the “ruffles long sleeve design” which originated and existed in the 16th-18th century but used it in a different way/style. So, whose design is it anyway? Yoon Choon Ho’s got his inspiration of the design in the past and called it his own design and accused Yoon Eun Hye of plagiarizing. Who do you think is copying who? It is clearly not his own original design, he also copied it somewhere. Who do you think would benefit from this scandal? Who do you think would get his name famous and his 15 minute of fame after this issue is over?

WHO IS THE PERSON WHO WILL BENEFIT FROM ALL OF THIS?
Yoon Choon Ho, period.

KARMA will go to Yoon Choon Ho for destroying someone’s name to make a name for himself and to sell his F/W Collection (which he himself copied from somewhere) and using this kind of propaganda/advertisement for his own hidden motive and personal agenda.

Remember, every one of us is guilty of copying others in any shape or form, one way or the other. But folly will come to those whose destroy someone’s name for his own selfish gain.

I believe in Yoon Eun Hye. May God continue to Bless Yoon Eun Hye and vindicate her from all this accusations.

I guess i have to watch the show. Clearly she has no imagination of her own and admits to needing other ppl's inspiration. Jusr like another commenter said maybe she just has nothing to develop on her own. Basically all it comes down to is the wording of the project assignment. Were they ask to recreate something that inspired them or did they need to think of a brand new idea, yes new ideas may be hard to make but perhaps the point was to makr something random that isn't out there already. I have to watch the show. Cuz for me i would have no problem sketching out something on the spot... it's better than thinking abour something cool i saw and making it a tad different.
