Guest RachelL
Not sure what they expected - How can you "borrow" someone else's work and make money off it and not expect to get sued. NOW they want to partner with the brand? Talk about doing things backwards! Girls look super cute though.
Guest MarieBlueshine
I think this is nonsense. What's wrong with using the concept? It's not like they're the first ones, and it's not like they stole something lol These butthurt people have nothing else to do
grandid_e5f6
You can't copyright a "concept." As long as they are not using the trade name "Pippi Longstocking" there is no case. Ignore them.
Guest eddielim831
Luckily 2EYES are from a big time agency and it will get resolved one way or another.
Guest novadestin
The company straight admitted to plagiarism in their statement, to the point that they might chance the ENTIRE concept. They knew exactly what they were doing from the start and are just upset they got caught. This wasn't nearly as bad as SM straight copy and pasting artwork for EXO's teasers though, so hopefully it will be settled reasonably. Also, a lesson on copyright law: the copyright holder has the rights not only to the original but to prepare derivative works as well. As the company already clearly stated this was a derivative work, the copyright holder has ever right to start legal actions if they so choose. I think Ifans often forget just how much of what they view is copyrighted because they see it as "well translators are only providing a service" or "it's just a photo on the internet, who cares if I use it for..."
