I absolutely adored the "Odd" album from Shinee (and subsequent comeback). I agree- K-pop has outgrown the need to imitate. Instead, they are showing their true creativity and artistry behind these amazing new albums. I wasn't a fan of the Wonder Girls comeback but I appreciate that they did something new. Stuff like Shinee's new album and SJ's new album are amazing because they aren't trying to imitate American pop music OR produce typical, techo-dance beat, easy to follow, hook song so prevelant in Kpop.... They aren't just singing and dancing whatever they have been ordered to do in an effort to sell more albums and gain more fans and get more publicity. They are being allowed more freedom and self-expression which has become more evident in their music..... might not be "Sorry Sorry" or "Ring Ding Dong" or other great songs that we will still be singing in 10 years. But they are good, quality, sincere songs that they can be proud of!
