As a young girl, she was impossibly cute and had a comfortable life with her wealthy parents but in her teens, her looks and fortune changed abruptly. Now she was living with her friend rent-free and working as a part-time clerk at a convenience store. One day, Hye-jin is contacted by her childhood friend and first love, Sung-joon who had emigrated to another country when they were still kids. He was coming back to Korea and wished to see her. Sung-joon had grown into a handsome and fit young man. He couldn't recognize Hye-jin so Hye-jin quickly hatches a plan to have her pretty friend meet him in her place. After luckily landing a full-time job, Hye-jin is surprised to find herself working in the same workplace as Sung-joon who still doesn't recognize her. In fact, adding insult to injury, he treats her with disdain and contempt.

In She Was Pretty, Hwang Jung Eum plays Kim Hye Jin, a girl born with a silver spoon in her mouth and having adorable looks as a child. Her life goes from heaven to hell when her father’s business gets bankrupt, and she soon goes from pretty to ugly when her adolescence triggers the unattractive gene in her family gene pool. Park Seo Joon is Ji Sung Joon, a very unattractive little boy who grows up to have looks as dashing as any male model, and finds success in the professional world as a magazine editor thanks to his good looks. Hye Jin and Sung Joon meet again as adults having their fates switched around, with fated romance that blossoms between them. Go Joon Hee is Hye Jin’s best friend who finds herself torn between friendship and love when she falls for Sung Joon.

The Ori clan is reuniting... (fan waving myself silly) I love them so much for making KMHM so funny to watch. Their chemistry is so good esp as wannabe twins. The Omega finally gets his girl hahaha! I hope the writers can be just as humorous  and perhaps take some time in watching KMHM to get some tips. Here's some flashbacks of their chemistry.

The cast lineup for the new MBC Wednesday-Thursday drama “She Was Pretty” (working title) has finally been confirmed!

Actors Park Seo Joon, Hwang Jung Eum, Go Joon Hee, as well as Super Junior’s Choi Siwon have finalized their casting to star in the upcoming drama.

On July 30, an associate of the drama shared, “Hwang Jung Eum, Park Seo Joon, Go Joon Hee, and Choi Siwon have all decided to accept the casting offer [for ‘She Was Pretty’] and will officially begin preparations for filming.”

“She Was Pretty” is a romantic comedy that tells the story of the ‘first love’ search for a woman (Kim Hye Jin, played by Hwang Jung Eum) who was once a beautiful daughter of a rich household, but transforms for the worse after her family’s business runs to the ground, as well as a man (Ji Sung Joon, played by Park Seo Joon) who was once overweight during his childhood, but transforms himself by shedding the weight and boasting a model-like figure.

Hwang Jung Eum and Park Seo Joon will be reuniting through this upcoming production after previously working together in MBC’s “Kill Me, Heal Me.”

Go Joon Hee will be taking on the role of Man Ha Ri, a hotelier and close friend of Kim Hye Jin, who boasts a voluminous, perfect body line and attracts all the men. Choi Siwon will act as Kim Shin Hyuk, a magazine feature editor with a free-spirited personality and mysterious aura.

“She Was Pretty” is scheduled to begin airing this coming September following the completion of “Scholar Who Walks the Night.”
