Newsie
Lee Sun Hee knows Lee Seung Gi better than anyone, and she revealed so herself that his best charm is his manliness. On the episode of KBS2’s “Sketchbook” that aired on June 19, Lee Seung Gi is invited as a guest in celebration of his sixth album “And…” Lee Sun Hee, the queen of the industry with 31 years of experience, makes a surprise appearance to support Lee Seung Gi. When she joins in with Lee Seung Gi’s sweet voice without notice, the crowd goes crazy at the unexpected appearance. “I came to support Lee Seung Gi since I heard he was starring on ‘Sketchbook.’ I also wanted to follow along and show my face on TV,” she says. Lee Seung Gi points out that Lee Sun Hee directed his sixth album, saying, “Since she already took on the role of the director, I asked her to take full of responsibility of me and appear on ‘Sketchbook’ with me.” When Yoo Hee Yeol comments, “Most of the people who sing a duet become lifeless squids in comparison,” Lee Seung Gi adds on, “I’m not just a squid. I’m a squid on the highway that has been overrun flat.” (Looking like a squid means looking bad in comparison in Korean slang.) Lee Sun Hee says, “We had a meeting regarding the duet stage. I asked how Lee Seung Gi would feel if we did one of my songs.” In response, Lee Seung Gi honestly answers, “I really didn’t want to do it.” Lee Sun Hee, whose last appearance on ‘Sketchbook’ was four years ago, says, “I knew the show would go on for a while because Yoo Hee Yeol is not strikingly unique. He is more of a no-scent, no-smell type of guy,” when asked if she knew ‘Sketchbook’ would run for so long. “I don’t mean it in a bad way,” she adds. “In other programs, sometimes the music is overshadowed by the MC’s strong characteristics. Contrastingly, Yoo Hee Yeol is a good supporter when it comes to introducing the music.” In addition, Lee Seung Gi comments on how important Lee Sun Hee is in his life. “Even though she is a singer, she taught me how to sing. I call her my teacher.” She adds, “I’m the same age as his parents. I treat him with the warmth of a mother.” When MC Yoo Hee Yeol asks, “If you call yourself Lee Seung Gi’s mom, do you even give him love advice?” Lee Sung Hee replies, “I don’t do relationship advice. However, I will say that Lee Seung Gi is quite the macho man. His masculinity is at its peak right now.” Watch their duet below: [yesasia link="http://www.yesasia.com/us/lee-seung-gi-vol-6/1042749101-0-0-0-en/info.html" title="And..."][/yesasia] Source (1)View the full article
