SM C&C to Fund JTBC's Blockbuster Disaster Drama "D-Day"

Entertainment company SM C&C and cable channel JTBC will be collaborating on the upcoming disaster drama "D-Day." On June 19, SM C&C announced that they will be funding the cable drama, and that they have agreed to provide 7.4 billion won (approximately $6.7 million USD) for the production of the drama. "D-Day" is one of the most anticipated dramas to be airing in the second half of 2015. It will be the very first disaster drama in Korea, as it will depict the aftermath of a massive earthquake that hits Seoul. The drama will tell the story of a medical rescue team of medics who put their lives on the line to save others. The drama is expected to also boast impressive CG. Representative Jung Chang Hwan from SM C&C announced, "Many more dramas of different genres will be produced like 'D-Day," and these dramas will not only target Korea, but China as well. Through our newly-founded content planning department, we hope to expand our content business to China with dramas, variety shows, and more." "D-Day" is expected to premiere in September. Kim Young Kwang, Infinite's Sungyeol, Jung So Min, and Kim Jung Hwa have been confirmed to star in the drama. Source: (1)
