Girl's Day Hyeri Determined to Dispel "Reply 1988" Casting Controversy

Recommended Posts

Girl's Day's Hyeri, who has been involved in some controversy because of her casting for tvN's drama "Reply 1988," is showing her determination to prove everyone wrong with good acting. Ahead of the filming that is expected to begin in the summer, Hyeri is hard at work, studying acting. On days when she has no scheduled activities, she goes to see producer Shin Won Ho at his workplace to get advice about her character. Furthermore, she is also watching and appraising plays or short movies with her friends at Konkuk University's Film Department for preparation. She also requested acting lessons and is diligently getting ready to act. Her resolution is not to hide behind her controversy, but to address it face-on by systematically preparing her character and being acknowledged for her acting abilities and potential. The drama's staff members are also emphasizing to Hyeri that while acting skills are important, so is the mindset with which she approaches the project. They are asking her to focus on her character despite the controversies surrounding her casting to the popular series. On June 1, an associate of the drama said, "One of the reasons why Hyeri was casted was because she fit the character best, and we are sure that she will be able to exceed expectations." They added, "Go Ara and Jung Eunji from the previous 'Reply' series also were part of a casting controversy, but just like how they extinguished those concerns with their acting skills, we are sure that Hyeri will be able to turn this controversy into an opportunity as well."
