Newsie Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 Actor Hong Jong Hyun revealed in a recent interview that he initially turned down the offer to appear in MBC's virtual marriage show, "We Got Married." During an interview with news outlet Newsen for his latest movie "Clash of the Families 2," he revealed that he was initially hesitant to be in "We Got Married" due to his personality. During a meeting with the show's production team, he told them honestly that he didn't think he was suitable for the show. However, the production team convinced him that his awkwardness with his partner and the development of their relationship could all be part of the program. "It's not something you can just decide to do because you want to, or because you were offered a role. To me, it's work that will be seen by thousands of people," he said. He also said that he honestly told the producers, "I'm fun once I'm close to someone, but I don't speak much, and I don't have the happiest personality. I'm not sure if I'll be suited for the program. I don't think it'll be fun, since I'm shy. People may not like it." Once he told that to the producers, they in turn replied, "It's not like there are only bright couples in the world." This convinced the actor, and he ultimately decided to appear in the show. He also added, "I thought I was showing who I truly was [during the program]. I could've made up an image, but I didn't want to do that. Even if I tried, since it's not acting, my personality would still show through. So I stayed true to my feelings everyday." Previously, Hong Jong Hyun was part of "We Got Married" with Girl's Day's Yura. Source: (1) See also: Hong Jong Hyun Says He Found “We Got Married” Difficult to ShootView the full article
