5-Year-Old Child Dies After Injury at KBS Headquarters

On April 28, the Yeongdeungpo Police Station stated that on April 27 at around 3 p.m. KST, a five-year-old boy was killed in the basement of KBS's main building when a shoe rack crashed down on him. The child, referred to as 'A,' was immediately sent to a nearby hospital, but he ended up passing away. The doctors are suspecting head trauma as the cause of death, but the exact cause has yet to be revealed. According to reports, 'A' was visiting the broadcasting station with his mom for a field trip and to see a close friend before this tragedy happened. KBS's promotion team stated, "The police are currently investigating. There is no confirmed cause of death yet so we are waiting for the investigation results. Until the confirmed results are out, we have no plans to take special actions or release an official statement." Meanwhile, none of the security cameras set up near the hallway of the building caught 'A's accident on tape. The police are planning to find out 'A's exact cause of death by conducting an autopsy.
