Former member of the hugely popular girl group Fin.K.L and renowned musical actress Ock Joo Hyun will be teaching some lucky students at Dankook University starting this May. According to her agency, she will be taking on a position as a visiting professor at the university in the musical theatre department. Every semester, she'll be teaching one or two special lectures, with the first one on May 13 entitled "The Basics of Vocalization, and the Dramatic Interpretation and Effective Expression of Musical Numbers." Ock Joo Hyun debuted in 1998 with the group Fin.K.L, which wrapped up their activities in 2002. After releasing a few solo albums, she then began to pursue a career as an actress in musicals with her role in the musical "Aida" in 2005. She has since taken on starring roles in eleven large-scale musical productions, including "Elisabeth," "Count of Monte Cristo," and "Wicked," and is considered to be one of Korea's finest musical actresses. In regards to her upcoming appointment, she says, "I'm excited and nervous about getting to teach such excellent students who I might have the chance to act on stage with one day ... I plan to teach them about things you learn outside of school, and I want to vividly convey the responsibility and feelings of standing on the stage." Ock Joo Hyun is currently in rehearsals for her upcoming musical "Elisabeth," which will also star Se7en. She previously starred in this show opposite JYJ's Junsu in 2012 and 2013. Source (1)
