"Running Man" to Apologize for Not Editing Out Ji Suk Jin Using an E-Cigarette on Camera

Recommended Posts

SBS variety show "Running Man" has spoken up about their mistake on the latest episode of the program. On the April 19 broadcast, "Running Man" member Ji Suk Jin was caught on camera smoking an e-cigarette in the corner, while the other members played the game. Some viewers voiced their concern regarding this matter after the episode has aired. On this issue, a representative from SBS told the media, "We missed it because the scene was so short. It was our mistake." They further continued, "We will be issuing an official apology shortly." Smoking is almost always censored or edited out on television, although it is not technically illegal to air it explicitly. Korea Communications Standards Commission issued their statement on the topic, stating, "The Broadcast Regulation does not ban smoking on screen, although it does say that broadcasts should be careful when airing scenes involving alcohol and cigarettes. Network TV has been discouraged from airing scenes involving smoking for a few years now, considering the time and the younger demographic of the viewers."
