Newsie
A new seven-member boy group called Romeo will be debuting in May. The group is being produced by the Japanese powerhouse music label Pony Canyon. The Japanese label has started a partnership with Korean entertainment company CT Entertainment to create this new boy group. CT Entertainment, headed by representative Hwang Sung Wook, was founded by staff members who worked at SM Entertainment for over 10 years. A representative from CT Entertainment told the media, "There have been cases where Japanese music labels will sign on popular Korean acts, but it's unlikely for a Japanese music label to want to start a Korean group. This project is happening thanks to the great trust between Pony Canyon and CT Entertainment." Some of the current Korean acts signed to Pony Canyon for their Japanese activities include Jang Geun Suk, Crayon Pop, B1A4, and BTS.
