EXO Ousts 2NE1 as K-Pop Act with Biggest Sales Week, Sets New Records on Billboard

Domestically and abroad, EXO continues to prove that they are a forced to be reckoned with. EXO has set a new record as the highest charting K-Pop male act on Billboard’s main album chart “Billboard 200." Coming in at 95th place, the group achieved the largest sales week ever in the United States for a K-Pop group.  The group sold 6,000 copies of their second full-length album "EXODUS" in the week ending April 5, beating out 2NE1's "CRUSH" which previously held the record with 5,000 copies sold in the week ending March 2, 2014. EXO also snagged first place on Billboard's world album chart for the week of April 18. Domestically, the group has been topping a slew of charts for two weeks straight, including GaonHANTEO, Synnara Record, YES24, and Hottracks. On Gaon album chart, the Korean and Chinese versions of the album have occupied first and second place, respectively, for the first two weeks of April. The group’s new album has been receiving an enthusiastic reception all over Asia as well, achieving first place for two weeks straight on a number of charts, including Taiwan’s FIVE MUSIC chart and Hong Kong and Singapore’s hmv chart. Meanwhile, EXO will be meeting local fans at the “EXO-L-JAPAN FANCLUB EVENT 2015 ‘EXO CHANNEL’” on April 17-19 at the Yokohama Arena in Japan. Congratulations EXO!
