Actress Kim Hee Sun shared that she is able to relate to the bullying that happens in upcoming MBC Wednesday-Thursday drama “Angry Mom.” On March 17, director Choi Byung Kil and cast members of “Angry Mom,” including Kim Hee Sun, Ji Hyun Woo, Kim Yoo Jung, and B1A4’s Baro, attended a press conference held for the drama in Seoul Mapo-gu. Kim Hee Sun opened up about the issue of school bullying, which “Angry Mom” addresses, “My daughter is seven years old. Something like this happens even in kindergarten. It’s not bullying per se, but the kids only play with the friends in their clique. [The story of ‘Angry Mom’] doesn’t feel like someone’s else’s story.” The actress shared that she understands her character Jo Kang Ja, a young mother who enrolls again in high school to protect her daughter who is being bullied, “I think I would do what Jo Kang Ja does [...] The circumstances may not be the same, and there are unrealistic aspects to Jo Kang Ja; but I think every mother’s heart is the same as hers.” She continued, “If anything, I’d go above and beyond what Jo Kang Ja does if my daughter was being victimized like that. Because this is something that could happen to me [and my daughter] several years later, it doesn’t feel like someone else’s story.” “As a viewer, I think it will be refreshing and gratifying to see Jo Kang Ja to go so far as to don a school uniform in order to save her daughter,” Kim Hee Sun added. Meanwhile, “Angry Mom” will premiere on March 18 at 10 p.m., KST.
