Mnet's female rapper competition show "Unpretty Rapstar" is allegedly in talks for an extension. According to associates at Mnet, the team behind the show has gone into discussion about a possible extension as the show continues to perform beyond expectations. "Unpretty Rapstar" stars eight female rappers, Cheetah, Jessi, Kisum, Lil Cham, Jolly V, TymeeAOA's Jimin, and Yook Ji Dam, who compete every episode to claim a track on the all-female hip hop album. A new member is expected to join the show to replace an eliminated rapper. Jessi, Cheetah, and Kangnam's Verbal Jint-produced track from the show, "My Type," topped numerous music charts after last week's episode. Initially, the show was only supposed to have six episodes. Nonetheless, as it continues to be popular, the team at Mnet has gone into discussion about extending it further. A representative from Mnet commented, "It is true that we are discussing an extension," but they also added, "this is not something we have talked about with the participants [on the show.] Thus, we are not in the position to announce an extension officially."
