Mamamoo Selected by Billboard as a K-Pop Artist to Watch

Girl group Mamamoo has been on a roll! After swiping the New Artist of the Year award in the female category at the 4th Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards, Mamamoo has landed themselves on Billboard’s list of “Top 5 K-Pop Artists to Watch in 2015.” Jeff Benjamin of Billboard wrote, “This soulful girl group is garnering loads of attention for focusing on talent and vocals above all else. With a retro-based sound that highlights their superb singing and rapping skills, it feels like only a matter of time until the cool quartet have a signature song that cements them amongst the top girl groups.” Meanwhile, Mamamoo debuted with a splash last June with their single “Mr. Ambiguous,” which showcased their singing and performing chops that far surpass their status as a rookies. They followed “Mr. Ambiguous” with another hit, “Piano Man,” in November, which swept music charts. After finishing activities for “Piano Man,” Mamamoo is currently preparing for their new album.
