Have You Met Kim Seul Gi?

Stand back, ladies and gents, this star's making some moves. Let me introduce you to Kim Seul Gi. You may have seen her as a gloriously sleep deprived editor on "The Flower Boy Next Door," a jilted lover on "The Discovery Of Romance," or a fantastically dry-humored vlogger on "Surplus Princess." All great supporting roles for the burgeoning comedic actress, as she played strong female characters with distinct voices that don't fit into a cookie cutter mold. But what's remarkable is her presence onscreen: when she appears, I know that fun is about to be had. I like smart, well-defined female characters, and I love funny women: Kim Seul Gi is deliciously entertaining. Maybe you've seen her earlier work on the show that pushes boundaries in the modern zeitgeist south of the 38th parallel, "SNL Korea."

The Busan native cut her teeth on the iconic comedy show, alongside cast members Jung Myung Ok, Shin Dong Yup, Go Kyung Pyo, and Kim Min Kyo. She portrayed a variety of characters, including the wife of a self-gratifying husband (played by SNL Korea cast member Jay Park) in digital short “Because I’m A Man.” She previously attended Seoul Institute of the Arts and has appeared onstage in both musical and theater productions. 

Admittedly, I can't help but wish she had stayed on in the cast; it feels like the show is missing a regular dose of Kim Seul Gi. All for the best, though, as the actress is focusing on her television drama and film roles. Not only has she appeared in recent features "Ode To My Father" and "Miss Granny," but the rising thesp has a couple of soundtrack singles (OSTs) to her credit to boot ("I Woke Up Because Of You," and "Rude Girl").

You can catch a glimpse of the young star as Heo Seok Hee, a psychiatric patient on the current drama "Kill Me, Heal Me" (starring Ji Sung, Hwang Jung Eum, and Park Seo Joon. Although more of a guest star role compared to her work on "Surplus Princess" and "The Discovery Of Romance," Kim Seul Gi adds an unexpectedly awesome punch to the story: her character is a compulsive liar addicted to clubbing.

I am looking forward to seeing her take on more roles, the heftier and the riskier, the better. Who else loves funny women?

i really like this girl !! i just signed up to say this. her acting is superb and she always makes me laugh. i know she isn't a beauty but for some reason the more i see her the more i like her. she is what a girl should be, confident, smart, funny. she is very confident and u can see it. her recent work is Oh My Ghost drama and im her team all the way /^.^//
