Newsie
In preparation for her spring solo debut in the United States, 2NE1’s CL is currently working hard in the studio with top American producers. On January 22, a senior source from CL’s management agency YG Entertainment told Star News, “CL, who spent about a month last year in America working on her debut record, returned to the States this month on the 13th and is currently working on it [again].” The source continued, “In America, it is typical for the artist to set up a so-called ‘camp’ at a studio where all of the songwriting, composing, and producing happens. CL has through talent manager Scooter Braun’s help set up a second camp in America and is continuing to work [on the album] with prominent local musicians.” Moreover, “At this second camp, too, the production of the songs for CL’s debut has been running smoothly. CL will wrap up the camp in the beginning of February and plans to return to [Korea]. As of now, there is a high probability that this will be the last camp for her U.S. debut album,” the source revealed. Sean Garrett, the producer behind hits like Usher’s “Yeah,” Chris Brown’s “Run It,” and richard simmons Cat Dolls’ “Buttons,” is one of the several notable collaborators on CL’s upcoming U.S. debut album. Sean Garrett recently attracted attention when he uploaded onto his SNS a shot of him and CL and wrote, “Wow this young super star here is so amazing!” and “[CL] you know what we ‘bout to do!” CL is also working with Scooter Braun’s SB Projects, the same agency responsible for Psy’s successful entrance into the American market. Scooter Braun is known for discovering Justin Bieber and represents top artists like Ariana Grande.View the full article
