It has been reported that Bobby Kim was issued another passenger's boarding pass for the flight KE023 on Korean Air from Seoul to San Francisco. According to associates of Korean Air on January 12, Bobby Kim received a boarding pass that was for another passenger on the plane. Bobby Kim's official name is Kim Robert Do Kyun, but he was given the boarding pass of a passenger named Kim Robert due to the mistake of an employee at the check-in counter. Bobby Kim followed the process and went through Incheon Airport Customs Security with the wrong boarding pass and boarded the aircraft. The airline staff and customs compared the passport and the boarding pass, but did not realize that Bobby Kim had a boarding pass that was for someone else. According to Newsen, two people ended up boarding the plane with one ticket, while an associate of Korean Air stated to Daily Sports that passenger Kim Robert was given the business class seat that should have been given to Bobby Kim. Representatives of Bobby Kim, who faces a second investigation, said, "We saw the reports, but since this involves the airline and the Department of Justice, we will wait for the results of the investigation." As such, they explained, "The return date hasn't been decided yet, but he will return shortly to submit to investigations." Earlier, Bobby Kim had been under investigations after reportedly sexually harassing a flight attendant aboard the Korean Air flight from Seoul to San Francisco. However, more and more inconsistencies have been found against Korean Air's story over the past few days. Bobby Kim's agency said on January 9 that "Bobby Kim used his own miles to book a business class ticket, but because of problems with Korean Air, he received an economy seat ticket. He made complaints to Korean Air regarding this continuously, but the staff refused to put him into the right seat, even though there were empty seats in the business class." The agency continued, "Bobby Kim said of this issue, 'Regardless of the cause, I understand the [gravity of the] situation and I apologize deeply.' We take all responsibility and apologize."
