Shin Hae Chul's Hospital Under Investigation for Malpractice and Potential Manslaughter

Recommended Posts

The late Shin Hae Chul’s wife Yoon Won Hee has submitted a request for investigation of the hospital that performed surgery on the singer for manslaughter.

According to reports, a source stated on October 31 that Yoon Won Hee, through a legal representative, submitted a investigation request to the Songpa police station. She asked that, as there is the possibility of manslaughter from the time of Shin Hae Chul's surgery to his death, they carry out an investigation.

Previously, on the afternoon of October 31, the cremation of Shin Hae Chul’s body was cancelled, and the decision was made to perform an autopsy to uncover the exact cause of death.

Currently, the family of Shin Hae Chul and his hospital are claiming two different things. The family claims that the hospital performed a stomach reduction surgery without their permission, and the hospital is denying, saying that they performed no such surgery. A representative from the singer's agency also stated that the medical records they received from the hospital were "missing many items."

A search and seizure of Shin Hae Chul’s medical and treatment records has been carried out at the hospital, and police will be investigating for potential malpractice. Chief Jung Chae Min from the Songpa police department stated, “As it is a medical investigation, the Korean Medical Association will be working with us.”

He continued, “It takes about one to two weeks to receive a written result for the autopsy. Once the results are out, we will be summoning people from hospital ’S’ for questioning.”
