Seo Taiji Responds to "Sogyeokdong" Plagiarism Accusations

Recommended Posts

In the midst of a great initial response for Seo Taiji and IU’s “Sogyeokdong,” IU’s recently released version of the song having swept the charts, Korean media recently reported that some have put forward questions of plagiarism. Some netizens have posted on various sites, drawing comparisons between Seo Taiji and IU’s “Sogyeokdong” and Scotland group Chvrches’ “The Mother We Share,” eliciting conflict between them and those that claim to see no similarities. At this, Fortune Entertainment stated, “Seo Taiij’s version and IU’s version [of the song] are worlds apart. As only IU’s version has been released so far, please listen to Seo Taiji’s version and you will be able to see that they [“Sogyeokdong” and “The Mother We Share”] are different." Meanwhile, IU’s version of the music video will drop on October 6, while the audio for Seo Taiji’s version will be released on October 10.
