SHINee’s Taemin and Winner Do Well on Charts

SHINee's  Taemin and boy band Winner have been dominating the charts in Korea and around the world this week. Taemin’s solo debut “Ace,” released on August 18, has spent two weeks atop the Gaon Album Chart, and has also topped the monthly Hanteo and Sinnara charts. “Ace” also reached the Number 2 spot on the Billboard World Music Album Chart. The album also placed at Number 2 in the Taiwan Korean-Japanese Music Chart. Taemin’s “BeatBurger” concept video for “Ace” has also been released, though the official Taemin website and SMTown’s YouTube channel, adding to the appeal of the release. The star will also appear on Mnet’s M Countdown on September 4, and SBS’ “Inkigayo” on September 7, where he will be performing the song “Danger.” Winner’s “Empty,” meanwhile, has also been doing well on a wide range of charts, securing top spot on Gaon’s Streaming Chart for a second consecutive week. The song is also currently at Number 4 in the download charts and Number 7 in the BGM (background music) Chart. Winner is also set to release a Japanese version of the group’s debut release, “2014 S/S” on September 10.
