Member of legendary 90s hip-hop group Jinusean's Sean has raised a lot of money on behalf of people with ALS. On August 31, YG Entertainment released the following statement on Sean's behalf: “Approximately 7000 people participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge and made contributions to Seungil Hope Foundation [which was co-founded by Sean]. From small individual contributions, we have created the miracle of 700,000,000 won [about 700,000 USD] in donations. Through continued interest in ALS and the Ice Bucket Challenge, we hope to construct Korea's first ALS hospital someday soon. We hope corporations will also contribute." “Charity Icon” Sean originally accepted the challenge to participate in the campaign from another singer, Tim, followed by many other members of YG Family. In order to raise money for the construction of a hospital dedicated to the care of ALS patients, Sean and the other members of YG Family began to solicit donations through the “Miracle of 10,000 Won” campaign. Sean's wife Jung Hye Young gave 100,000,000 won towards this cause. G-Dragon both participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge and donated 81,800,000 won to Sean's campaign on August 18, his birthday. Actors Choi Ji Woo and Jang Hyun Sung, 2NE1's Sandara Park, and members of new boy group WINNER Kang Seung Yoon, BI and Bobby released videos of their participation in the challenge encouraging people to take interest in the campaign. Epik High's Tablo both dumped ice water on his head and made a joint contribution with his wife. BIGBANG's TOP and Taeyang, Akdong Musician, Lee Hi, WINNER's Nam Tae Hyun and Song Min Ho, actor Gu Hye Sun and actor and model Lee Sung Kyung made donations in lieu of participating in the challenge.
