Newsie
For eight years, the film “The Host” had the highest box office record. However, “The Admiral: Roaring Currents” has broken that record. On August 16, according to the Korean Film Council Cinema Ticket Integrated Computer Network, before Korea’s Independence Day, about 740 thousand people watched “The Admiral: Roaring Currents,” and in total, over 13.3 million people have watched the film, breaking the previous box office record of “The Host,” which was 13 million. Many are noting that if this continues, it could possibly break the box office record of “Avatar,” which was 13.6 million. Seventeen days after its release, "The Admiral: Roaring Currents" broke the box office record of “The Host” in record time and is now making a breakthrough. For “The Host,” it took 105 days for it to reach 13 million. On the third day, “The Admiral: Roarding Currents” reached two million. Increasing by a million each day, the movie hit 10 million by the twelfth day. Even on the premiere date, the film set a record of 680 thousand viewers.View the full article
