Girls’ Generation Tops Weekly Japanese Album Chart, NU’EST Makes No 7 on Daily Chart

Girls’ Generation continues to break ground on the Japanese charts with the success of a compilation album entitled “The Best.” The album, which contains popular hits such as “Gee,” “Genie,” “Hoot” and “Mr Mr,” has topped Japan’s Oricon Weekly Album Chart. This development comes on the back of figures released by the chart company earlier this week revealing that the album had also grabbed top spot in the Oricon Daily Album Chart.

Figures from the chart compilers have also shown that boy band NU’EST are also big in Japan, with the act’s album, “NU’EST Best in Korea,” securing the Number 7 spot on the Daily Album Chart. 

The popularity of Girls’ Generation shows no sign of waning in Japan. A recent series of concerts that saw the group play 17 dates in seven different Japanese cities has seen the nine-member group gain yet more loyal followers in the country.
