Newsie
Taeyang’s “Eye, Nose, Lips” scores a perfect 1000 points to become our new No. 1 song this week. It is the second song to achieve 1000 points this year as his YG labelmate Akdong Musician did it last month with “200%.” “Eye, Nose, Lips” won on M!Countdown, Music Core, and Inkigayo and also topped most independent charts. Congratulations to Taeyang. Unlike Taeyang’s previous hit songs or any Big Bang songs, “Eye, Nose, Lips” is a listener friendly R&B ballad with a simple piano melody. It is the title song of Taeyang’s second solo album “Rise.” YG’s main producer Teddy wrote the song and penned the lyrics with Taeyang. It is a story about a man who yearns to be with his ex-girlfriend. Taeyang’s perfect score denies Fly To The Sky’s “You You You” a chance to three peat as No. 1, and drops one spot to No. 2. Meanwhile, Gary and Jung In’s duet “Your Scent” also moves down a spot to No. 3. Besides “Eye, Nose, Lips,” there are two more new songs in the top 10 this week. Just below the top three is Davichi’s latest hit “Again.” This Brave Brothers written song is a ballad about a couple who goes through the cycle of breaking up and reuniting again and again. Despite no promotions by Davichi, this song has done very well on the chart. This week it moves up 24 spots to No. 4. Crush scored his first top 10 hit with “Hug Me,” moving up 21 spots to No. 8. This song is coming from his first album “Crush On You.” It is an hip-hop style R&B song about the emotions of embracing one’s love. Dynamic Duo’s Gaeko is featured in this song.
