Newsie
Veteran male duo Fly To The Sky claimed the top spot on our chart this week with “You You You,” moving up from No. 19 last week. Many first generation Kpop artists are coming back recently, Fly To The Sky being one of them. The duo last released their 8th album in 2009 with “Corner” went to No. 2. Members Brian and Hwanhee have been working as solo artists since then. They finally reunited and released their 9th album “Continuum” recently. The title track “You You You” is a powerful ballad. Brian and Hwanhee once again harmonize their flawless vocals with the magnificent sound of this song. The lyrics are about a man who can’t let go of the woman he loves. “You You You” easily won over last week’s No. 1 song Junggigo’s “Want You” by 79 points. This song was also No. 1 on MBC’s Music Core last week. Congratulations to Fly To The Sky. Rounding out the top three is IU’s remake of Cho Duk Bae’s “My Old Story,” moving up two spots to No. 3. This is one of two songs featuring IU in the top 10. Her duet with HIGH4 “Spring, Love Or Cherry Blossom” climbs back to No. 10 this week. There are two other new songs in the top 10 this week. Just below the top three is Infinite’s “Last Romeo,” moving up 17 spots to No. 4. This is the title song of Infinite’s second full length album “Season 2.” It is a dynamic dance song with drum, bass, and guitar sound. The lyrics are about a romantic guy willing to sacrifice everything for the woman he loves, just like Romeo. “Last Romeo” won on M!Countdown, Show Champion, and Music Bank last week. But it doesn’t fare as well in independent charts. However, with its continuous domination on music shows, it should get into the top three next week. T-Ara’s Jiyeon released her first solo mini-album “Never Ever” and its title song “1 Minute 1 Second” moves up 16 spots to No. 9 this week. Jiyeon previously has participated on several drama OST songs but this is the first time she promotes as a solo artist. “1 Minute 1 Second” is a slow dance hit, a genre which is popular with female idols these days. The song is about a woman who can’t give up her love not even for a minute or a second.
