Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2014 – May Week 3

A Pink’s “Mr. Chu” moves back to the top spot this week.  This song was No. 1 four weeks ago and was able to reclaim the top spot thanks to its win on M!Countdown last week.  Also moving back to No. 2 is Lee Sun Hee’s “Meet Him Among Them.”  This song reached its same peak position also four weeks ago when “Mr. Chu” was No. 1. 

Moving up one spot into the top three for the first time is the collaboration between new male group HIGH4 and IU’s “Spring, Love Or Cherry Blossom.”  This song has been in the top five for four weeks and also ranked consistently among the top songs in most charts.

We hope this is the last quiet week on the chart. K-Pop came to a hiatus with the ferry accident last month but now artists have resumed their activities or come back with new songs.  Most music shows are also coming back to air on their regular time schedule.

We expect a lot of new songs in the top 10 next week but we only have one this week.  Moving up 13 spots to No. 7 is “Next Year” by Park Jung Hyun (Lena Park).  This song is coming from her single “Syncrofusion.”  Lena Park composed this song herself with the lyrics by Yoon Jong Shin and his TEAM89 musicians.  This ballad contains orchestral sound and highlights Lena Park’s powerful voice.
