Future of "Dae Jang Geum 2" Uncertain as Lee Young Ae Has Yet to Make Her Decision

Lee Young Ae has yet to decide whether she will be part of "Dae Jang Geum 2," according to MBC sources. 

MBC has made frequent contact with her agency, even sending an official request to Lee Young Ae's lawyer for a confirmation of appearance, to no avail. 

It was briefly rumored that Lee Young Ae has turned down the role, but her agency has denied these rumors, saying that "Lee Young Ae has been very concerned about doing this drama. We are planning on making an official announcement very soon."

Previously, during an interview with Hong Kong media on April 24, Lee Young Ae seemed hesitant to appear in "Dae Jang Geum 2," saying "it is pressuring to be as loved as 'Dae Jang Geum'. I have yet to decide because the writers, director, music and everything have to work extremely well to bypass 'Dae Jang Geum'."

MBC is planning "Dae Jang Geum 2" as a follow-up to the mega-hit 2003 drama "Dae Jang Geum". This sequel will tell the story of Seo Jang Geum raising her daughter and teaching her disciples. It is currently scheduled to air in October after "Triangle" and "Journal of the Nightwatch Man."
