Hi dashuu! Congrats & thank you for starting this thread for Kim Hye Soo. Here's previous KHS update for the new thread, hope it's alright with you. I've noticed that Kim Hye Soo is one of the movie celebrities that has been photographed the most at various events and award ceremonies.

Not sure if her new movie with CSW has finished or still shooting. Anyone knows?

Kim Hye-soo Voted Korea's Most Beautiful Face

200606200023_00.jpg

A group of the nation's top photographers have settled on Kim Hye-soo as the most beautiful face in Korea, according to a poll conducted by the film magazine Movie Week. The "Beautiful Faces 25" event brought together 86 of the nation's photographers responsible for most of the movie posters and stills, and fashion magazines.

They explained their decision saying the actress "exudes passion, and the camera loves her free and cool image. She doesn't try to look overly beautiful but is always a commanding presence. No matter what kind of clothes she has on, she speaks in a straightforward manner."

She's 36? Sure does not look like it. KHS is a pretty woman regardless of her age. :)

Just what I wanted to say too.

I'm currently watching Wuri's Family and I think her brother is in there ;)

Her brother was in Wuri's Family? Which actor?

According to the profile (first post), Kim Dong Hyun was in Phoenix and BD. Now... which one is he? I watched all three series... and especially familiar with BD (at least I thought I am  )... can someone clarify KHS' brother? I've got someone in mind but I'm really not sure.

Sorry for asking too much about the brother ... can't help be intrigued... :sweatingbullets: but will definitely post more pics of KHS. I remember reading about her awhile back... a very daring yet interestingly remarkable actress.

And Hi to everyone!

Kim Hye-soo Is as Radiant as Ever

By Han Eun-jung

Staff Reporter

kt2200507121930510hye-b.jpg

The past year has certainly been good to actress Kim Hye-soo.

In May, her portrayal of a woman flirting with madness in the 2004 sexy psychological thriller "Faceless Beauty'' was recognized with a Baeksang Arts Award for Best Actress. Last week she picked up the top prize for best performance given by an actress at the 42nd Daejong (Grand Bell) Film Festival.

At the moment her latest film, "The Red Shoes (Punhongsin),'' is in the theaters and has already pulled in more than 1 million moviegoers.

Her long anticipated comeback, the lead in the MBC weekend soap "A Ballad of the Han River (Hangangsu Taryong)'' showed audiences that despite fame and fortune, she was still capable of taking on a "plain Jane" role.

Kim is 34, just a few months shy of 35, an age many would consider actresses to be past their prime with the good scripts having stopped rolling in long ago.

But in fact Kim is more radiant than ever, delivering one seasoned performance after another on both the big screen and the small.

Standing at 170 centimeters, the stunning and naturally curvaceous Kim is one of the few actresses in the business who refuses to be intimidated by a show business seemingly plagued by anorexia and bulimia.

A very simple person, she says she stays true to her natural desires. "I've always had a hearty appetite," she said in a July interview with Harper’s Bazaar magazine.

Having debuted at 15 in commercials and doing her first feature film, "Kkambo," only a year later, she said she felt the pressure of dieting from a very early age.

Then her mother, who acted as her manager, would tell adolescent Kim that she should diet.

"But it was in my mid-20s when I changed my motto," saying that she would eat whatever whenever she liked. Fortunately, because Kim has never really liked to snack and prefers vegetables and seafood, she is able to stay fit.

Kim is also known for not being afraid to show off her figure. Long before actresses had the courage to drape themselves in gowns revealing cleavage, backs and thighs on the red carpet, Kim in the mid-1990s had the reputation of being a showstopper at award ceremonies.

Becoming bored with the clothes her mother picked out for her, she decided to dress according to her own taste.

"One day I woke up to find myself labeled an exhibitionist. Don't people know how ridiculous it is to judge a person by how they dress on a particular occasion?" she said, adding that she no longer cares.

"There really is no need for me to explain myself about what clothes I feel best express me."

Another time fans will see her stick up for her beliefs is when it comes to choosing roles.

So why did Kim, who says she can't say whether she likes or dislikes horror movies because she can't even sit through one, do the spine-chilling "The Red Shoes (Punhongshin)?"

The film is an adoption of In the Hans Christian Andersen story, "The Red Shoes,'' with a gory twist. In it, Kim plays Sun-jae, who faces some life threatening consequences after coming into possession of a cursed pair of shoes.

"The film tells of desires that everyone has whether they acknowledge it or not. I was drawn to the characters and how the plot unfolded," she told the Yonhap News Agency upon the film's release.

And as for where the sultry actress is headed next?

"Though nothing is definite, I’m pretty much sure that it won’t be a horror movie. That is for the sake of both the audience and myself. Whether it is a film or a television drama, one for thing for sure is that I would like to take on a piece that is really true to life," she said.

Yups in both Phoenix & BD, he liked the same girl if I remember right, I think in Chinese that girl's character name is Nalan in BD, CJW's best friend who she stayed with. He acted with her in Phoenix too haha and he kinda liked her  In Wuri's Family, he plays a minor role as one of Wuri's classmate, who kinda like Kim Hyo Jin and well, he's always hanging out with Wuri's senior and asking the senior to intro him to girls etc. And I'm pretty sure he's in All In as well.

But anyway, I agree he has such a beautiful sister :P

'High Rollers' Gives High Thrill

By Kim Tae-jong

Staff Reporter

kt2200609281653000mo_in.jpg

A scene from "Tazza: The High Rollers"

If you could sweep into the hidden corners of your conscience the numerous evil aspects and warnings about gambling, then it could surely appear to be a highly tempting and entertaining game. You place your bet and you can test your luck.

The game is never that simple, however, as ruthless desires, severe betrayals and naïve hopes are intermixed. The outcome often tends to be a life-threatening crisis, rather than a life changing chance that people dream of.

The new domestic film "Tazza: The High Rollers" successfully captures this fatal attraction and brings it more alive through interesting characters.

Directed by Choi Dong-hun, the film is an adaptation of a hit comic series by Hur Young-man. And veteran actors such as Cho Seung-woo, Kim Hye-soo, Baek Yoon-sik and Yoo Hae-jin bring life back to their counterparts from the original into the movie.

The film revolves around Ko-ni (by Cho), an ordinary factory worker at a furniture company, who loses everything overnight at a gambling table.

He loses all his money and his sister’s alimony from her divorce. He later finds out that he was swindled and he has no choice but to run away from his family.

He struggles to get his life back by winning a high stake game and dreams of returning to his family, but things don't go well. But a "hidden card" is dealt to him in the form of legendary professional gambler Pyong Kyong-jang (by Baek).

He begs Pyong to teach him to become a "tazza," Korean slang for a top professional gambler, like Pyong. He is taught various tricks and skills and starts to win lots of money in gambling houses nationwide.

But he can't quit gambling and get back to his ordinary life as he promised Pyong when he first started learning from him, and he dreams of having bigger and more risky bets, and he joins the gang led by Miss Jang (by Kim), who organizes big gambling games with swindlers.

For bigger causes, he later risks his life, love and everything that he has and tests his luck and talents without knowing what awaits him.

Compared to the director's successful debut thriller "The Big Swindle," the new film takes a different approach.

His first film was a kind of puzzle, to which the director invited the audience with scattered clues that led them slowly toward a climactic finish, but the new movie is more of a collection of stories about each character but less of an in-depth exploration of human nature.
