Game Show Appearance Spikes New Interest in Hong Jin Young’s Pre-Trot Debut

Recommended Posts

Web users are showing a renewed interest in trot singer Hong Jin Young’s pre-solo debut years after a recent appearance on KBS game show “1 vs. 100,” where she talked about her pop past.

The singer, who had a hit with the single “Boogie Man” last year, first made an appearance on the music scene as part of the largely forgotten four-member girl group Swan. The group released a pop album entitled “Booming SWANS” in 2007, which included the song, “Call Me When You Hear This Song.

Hong Jin Young’s activities with Swan were short-lived, however. Shortly after the group’s first album was released, she had a solo hit with her breakthrough trot single, “Love Battery.

Fans of the singer, who has also appeared as a judge on Mnet’s "Trot X," are now scouring the internet for Swan tracks, in order to catch a glimpse of what she looked and sounded like as a pop diva.

Do you prefer Hong Jin Young as a trot queen or a girl group member? Watch the music video for “Call Me When You Hear This Song” and "Love Battery" below and judge for yourselves:
