SHINee's Onew Missing From Final Lineup for "Singin' in the Rain"

Recently, the final lineup for the cast of “Singin' in the Rain” was released. SHINee’s Onew, who had been mentioned as one of the leads in past reports, was missing from the list. The lineup for the lead role of Don Lockwood was announced as EXO’s Baekhyun, Super Junior’s Kyuhyun, and TRAX’s Jay.

A production official said to SportsSeoul.com, “We’ve continuously been discussing the casting of Onew, but there are still internal things that need to be worked out. While the lineup has been released, following discussion, Onew could still join the cast.” On the inclusion of TRAX’s Jay, another official said that Jay was originally going to be a member of the cast.

“Singin' in the Rain” is a musical adaptation of the famous 1952 film of the same name.

Also starring in the musical is Girls’ Generation’s Sunny in the role of Kathy Selden. The musical will be running from June 5 through August 3.
